A PICTURE of Chancellor Gordon Brown has been found on an al-Qaeda
suspect’s computer, it was reported last night.
Laptops were seized in Pakistan last week, sparking alerts in the US
and arrests in Britain.
America’s Time magazine said Mr Brown’s image was found in files about
the World Bank and International Monetary Fund.
Plans were also discovered for helicopter attacks on New York, as well
as packing limousines and speedboats with explosives.
The news came as British ministers studied plans to tighten
anti-terror laws and allow cops to hold suspects longer.
At present, police only have two weeks from an arrest to charge or
release suspects.
Meanwhile, cops last night denied bungling a search of suspects’ homes
- by leaving behind two briefcases stuffed with clues.
They included a picture of a man dressed in military fatigues with an
assault rifle.

A Scotland Yard source said: "We left the briefcases behind for a good
reason."
The documents were left on Tuesday when police raided an address in
Willesden, north London, and arrested five men.
Other papers included a statement sent to the Home Office by a failed
asylum seeker claiming he trained as a suicide bomber.
He is still apparently in the UK despite not getting asylum.
Eight others were arrested in swoops elsewhere in the UK.
