Brush with Greatness? |

Here I've been living in Pensacola ("The Armpit of Florida" if you look
on a map) most of my life, hardly ever seeing the town getting press
other than "A doctor got shot there." or "Kent Hovind lives there and
runs a 'museum' there." or stuff like that.
Finally, I saw a local story that utterly made my day; someone I went to
high school with not only escaped Pensacola but made a hell of a name for
herself in fashion, designing bathing suits. Sure, we probably exchanged
all of a short paragraph's worth of speech in total, but many of the
people I remember from 20 years ago are still here 20 years later.
I have to admit, I envy her ability to make a dream job happen.
