Publish 'bomb al-Jazeera' memo, demands MP
A Labour MP has tabled a motion in Parliament calling on Tony Blair to
publish the transcript of a discussion with George W Bush in which the
American president allegedly proposed bombing the Arab television
station al-Jazeera.
Lord Goldsmith, the Attorney General, has warned newspapers not to
publish the contents of the memo, citing the Official Secrets Act.
But Peter Kilfoyle, a former defence minister, today said that the
details of the conversation which supposedly took place during the
Prime Minister's visit to the White House in April 2004 should be put
before the public.
"I would hope we can have a fair and full discussion of the very
important issues that were discussed at that meeting," the Liverpool
Walton MP told the BBC.
"This is not about national security. It is about political
embarrassment.
"The information is out there in the public domain and it seems
ludicrous that the media can't discuss it in its entirety."
In an early-day motion tabled in the House of Commons, Mr Kilfoyle
said he was "appalled" by Mr Bush's reported comments and called on
the Government to publish the transcript.
According to press reports, the transcript recorded Mr Blair
attempting to persuade Mr Bush not to take military action against the
al-Jazeera head quarters in Doha, the capital of Qatar.

Satan was around long before Jesus Christ
(who came forth from the Father) came to earth.
Satan did not predate God of course (because he is a created being
that fell from holiness to the evil state he is right now) but he was
here before God became flesh--when Jesus Christ came to earth.

The "Jesus" Hero was codified into the mythologies at the same
time that the other gods were, voted on by various councils of
Nicea and other Christian bodies.
