Bush Laments 'Tone' In Washington, Says His Opponents Want
Terrorists To Win
On Tuesday, in an interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity, President
Bush said the worst thing about being President was the "tone" in
Washington, saying that it "has gotten ugly." Bush said that he had
stayed above the fray, noting "I really don't think it's fitting
for the president to drag the presidency into that kind of a
mudslinging." Watch it:
The day before, President Bush was on the campaign trail in Georgia.
His message: his opponents want America to lose and the terrorist to
win. Watch it:
This kind of high-minded rhetoric is a staple of President Bush's
election-year stump speech. Expect more of it as the President
campaigns in Nevada, Montana and Missouri over the next two days.
Transcript:
Clip 1
BUSH: Let me start with the least. I don't like the tone in
Washington, D.C. I feel like that the politics has gotten ugly, and
that tends to discourage people around the country. And that's just
too bad.
I would hope in my last two years I can - and, by the way, I've
never really resorted to name-calling. And I'm not trying to say,
well, you know, I'm innocent and everybody else is guilty. That's
not what I'm trying to say. But I understand that it's one thing to
disagree with a person, but it's another thing to have to resort to
kind of shameless name- calling. And I really don't think it's
fitting for the president to drag the presidency into that kind of a
mudslinging.
On the other hand, it's important for the president defends what he
believes, you know, in a way that brings honor to the office. But
Washington's a lot - it's just too - it's too political in
many ways.
Clip 2
BUSH: However they put it, the Democrat approach in Iraq comes down to
this: The terrorists win and America loses.
[Snip]
BUSH: In all these vital measures for fighting the war on terror, the
Democrats in Washington follow a simple philosophy: Just say no. When
it comes to listening in on the terrorists, what's the Democratic
answer? Just say no. When it comes to detaining terrorists, what's
the Democrat answer?
AUDIENCE: Just say no!
BUSH: When it comes to questioning terrorists, what's the Democrat
answer?
AUDIENCE: Just say no!
BUSH: When it comes to trying terrorists, what's the Democrat's
answer?
AUDIENCE: Just say no!

Is it even remotely possible that Smarmy the Clown doesn't realize that
the "ugly" tone in Washington is almost entirely the result of the
***** that he and his cronies have been pulling ther since 1994? Give

Not quite. He promised to bring morality back into the White House then
didn't allow it onto the grounds.

I'm seeing more and more parallels in the shitheads' behavior in

Tell us what this curious AWOL Bush quote on the White House's own
website is all about:
"I want to thank my friend, Senator Bill Frist, for joining us today.
(Applause.) You're doing a heck of a job. You cut your teeth here,
right? That's where you started practicing? That's good. He married a
Texas girl, I want you to know. (Laughter.) Karyn is with us. A West
Texas girl, just like me. "
AWOL Bush...the West Texas Girl
So AWOL Bush forgets his own gender sometimes? You find that
plausible, but you think Kerry lied about the muffed joke?

I apologize to anyone who misread the intent of my post... and that
includes the brave young men and women who gave their lives in Iraq and
Afghanistan.

defense contractor's Garden of Eden?" -- Lewis Lapham

Well, if he's so worried about the tone, it's his own damn fault.
His and his fascist-brothers.
If he's so worried, how about HE do something about it? I mean, like
actially WORKING with the factions, instead of demonizing them..?
Nahh. To easy.
