Object: Bush prays for a drop in casualties
http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/nation/20040411-1306-bush.html
But being the good christian he is "President Bush said on Easter Sunday he
was praying for American casualties to ebb in Iraq..."
Somebody should read "The War Prayer" to him.
Or maybe it should be rephrased a bit.
"President Bush said on Easter Sunday that while preying on Iraq, he was
praying for American casualties to ebb in Iraq..."

Wellll.....that makes every OK then. Now that he has done that, invisible,
impervious magical sheilds will automatically appear around all the
Americans with in the borders of Iraq. Whew...I was worried there for a
while that Iraq would get out of control or something...lucky Dubya and his
super djinni decided to rewrite the laws of nature like that.
I notice that he's not praying for a reduction in the civilian casualties
that he's caused.

I'm sure they're in the process of being dropped from the voters

If you think about it, Christians don't believe in laws of physics.
They believe that God is in control. Only when we believe that physics
is the ultimate reality will we advance.

I've always wondered about the effrontery of this kind of claim.
I wonder how the relatives of those who died feel about it.
Similarly, if I were a fireman, Coast Guard rescue worker,
or just a citizen passing by a disaster, and had risked my life
to save someone else, it would really make me angry if the
first thing they did was to thank God (or Allah, or whoever).

In a similar vein, one old lady from Italy was quoted in some
newspaper article somewhere about how the pope was sick because of the
crisis in the church and such crap. Never mind that he's
EIGHTY-PLUS-FUCKING-YEARS-OLD and has PARKINSONS'S DISEASE, it simply
*must* be "holy discord" that's causing his ails...
I could probably find it if I had to, it was quoted here and I replied
to it in pretty much the same tone. But HARK! It has become relevant
again! ;-) These people never cease to amaze or amuse, but most
sickeningly horrific of all, they also never cease to amass. :-#

Will anyone mention it when (if) his prayer goes unanswered? Even in the
