BUSH UNVEILS SMITHSONIAN STATUE <--------- |

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Rueters) --
President Bush, just back from
the Far East, unveiled a new
statue in front of the Smithsonian
Institution's Museum of Natural
History today.
It is a fitting likeness of Charles
Darwin shown as a younger man
before he began compiling his
research and wrote "The Origin
of Species," the theory of evolution.

"It honors me greatly to show

Smithsonian Institution Secretary
Lawrence M. Small assisted as
Bush pulled a velvet curtain off
the 78-foot-tall statue as senators
and congressmen vigorously
applauded.
A large group of protesters
from Kansas, kept at a distance
by a cordon of police, held up
placards reading: "Up your's, Bush!"
Cindy Sheehan, activist mother
of one of the more than 2,070
U.S. servicemen killed in Iraq,
told Rueters that the President's
head would never fit up his rectum
"because his ears are too big."
