WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Congressman Porter Goss, President Bush's
nominee for CIA director, could be his own worst enemy when it comes
to making the case that he deserves to lead the U.S. intelligence
agency.
"I couldn't get a job with CIA today. I am not qualified," the Florida
Republican told documentary-maker Michael Moore's production company
during the filming of the anti-Bush movie "Fahrenheit 9/11."
A day after Bush picked Goss for the top U.S. spy job, Moore on
Wednesday released an excerpt from a March 3 interview in which the
65-year-old former House of Representatives intelligence chief
recounts his lack of qualifications for employment as a modern CIA
staffer.
....
Moore told Reuters that Goss, who until Tuesday was chairman of the
House of Representatives Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence,
granted an interview to two of his producers without first checking to
see who they worked for.
"You'd think the person who was the head of the intelligence committee
would ask a few more questions," said Moore.

If this guy can be a US Senator, whats the problem?
Meet The Press
April 18, 1971
John Kerry: "There are all kinds of atrocities, and I would have to say
that, yes, yes, I committed the same kind of atrocities as thousands of
other soldiers have committed in that I took part in shootings in free fire
zones. I conducted harassment and interdiction fire. I used 50 calibre
machine guns, which we were granted and ordered to use, which were our only
weapon against people. I took part in search and destroy missions, in the
burning of villages. All of this is contrary to the laws of warfare, all of
this is contrary to the Geneva Conventions and all of this is ordered as a
matter of written established policy by the government of the United States
from the top down. And I believe that the men who designed these, the men
who designed the free fire zone, the men who ordered us, the men who signed
off the air raid strike areas, I think these men, by the letter of the law,
the same letter of the law that tried Lieutenant Calley, are war criminals."

He is giving you credit (deserved or not) for realizing that if
something is described as an atrocity, you can figure out that it is
something wrong.
It is my opinion that the Vietnam war was an atrocity, from beginning
to end. It was a scam foisted on the American public, a crime
committed against the Vietnamese, and a damn horrible thing to put the
American military through. Kerry's testimony was part of the public
realization of our guilt, as a nation. It has not been refuted, but
amplified by the passage of time.
However, the war in Iraq may set a new standard for shameful misuse of
the American military. This war, the truth is leaking out at a much
faster pace than it did during the Vietnam war, but it may not end any
quicker than the Vietnam war did. It is a hell of a tangled mess with
no easy way out. At least, all we really had to do in Vietnam was
leave. The Vietnamese were so much more philosophical about being
occupied than the Moslems are. This time, the terrorists we have
helped Al Qaeda recruit will lead us home.

Apparently, you're unaware of the complete shithole south vietnam
became after the invasion by the north. That was a nice way to violate
a peace treaty by the north, wasn't it?

So Iraq and the USA would be better off with a thriving al qaeda cell
led by zarqawi in northern iraq / kurdistan?

When the USA left south vietnam had a reasonably open and democratic

You've got it backwards. south vietnam was occupied by north vietnam.
Iraq is being 'occupied' now by al qaeda.

It isn't recruiting terrorists, it's having somewhere for them to
train and organize. They aren't doing that out in the open in iraq
now. And exactly what recruited terrorists BEFORE iraq?

You are describing bad consequences of a bad war that our bad policies
created. There is no way to know how things would have been different
if we had never been at war with the Vietnamese, except that we would
definitely have not lost 58,000 men and women and would not have been
directly responsible for millions of Vietnamese deaths.

Al Qaeda cells did not thrive in Iraq under Saddam. They were a
threat to his authority, and he did not tolerate such threats lightly.

It is a hell of a tangled mess with
no easy way out. At least, all we really had to do in Vietnam was

Don't ask me. Ask Al Qaeda. They may be secretive about their
operations, but they have been publishing their motivations to any who
will listen for over a decade. Hint: It has a lot to do with the
foreign policies of the US (especially having our troops stationed in
their holy lands) and its support for the policies of Israel toward
the Palestinians. Occupation of another Arab country by US troops is
just what they need to persuade many more that what they have been
saying all along about the need to bring war to the US was absolutely
correct.

Al Qaeda cells did not thrive in Iraq under Saddam. They were a

Zarqawi and ansar al islam did thrive in norther iraq post 9/11 and
pre iraq war. And Saddam Hussein had made attempts to work with al
qaeda. as per
pg.
66 THE 9/11 COMMISSION REPORT
In mid-1998, the situation reversed; it was Iraq that reportedly took
the ini-tiative.
In March 1998, after Bin Ladin's public fatwa against the United
States,
two al Qaeda members reportedly went to Iraq to meet with Iraqi
intelli-gence.
In July, an Iraqi delegation traveled to Afghanistan to meet first
with
the Taliban and then with Bin Ladin. Sources reported that one, or
perhaps
both, of these meetings was apparently arranged through Bin Ladin's
Egypt-ian
deputy, Zawahiri, who had ties of his own to the Iraqis. In 1998, Iraq
was
under intensifying U.S. pressure, which culminated in a series of
large air
attacks in December.75

When the USA left south vietnam had a reasonably open and democratic
society.

*****. I was there and there was no such thing.

Did a survey of Vietnamese tell you this?

No survey, video of vietnamese hanging on to anything that floated
trying to escape and vietmanese trying to get out of Saigon in April
75 at the US embassy.

Don't ask me. Ask Al Qaeda. They may be secretive about their

Your assessment fails to explain the muslim rage against the USA.
Didn't see any terrorist attacks inside of the USSR when the the USSR
was trying to turn Afghanistan into an atheist paradise and why no
rage against all of those muslim brothers saddam killed in iran and
the civilians in kurdistan? All of this ***** has been directed at the
USA because the Muslim world believes the USA is weak.

RADIO CITY FILTH FEST! Because Liberals Hate America!

If it's an election year, it must be time for another foul-mouthed
fund-raiser for a Democratic Party presidential candidate at Radio
City Music Hall.
Last week's Kerry/Edwards event at the storied New York venue raised
$7.5 million to say nothing of eyebrows from coast to coast.
The dependably vulgar Whoopi Goldberg set the tone for the evening,
rolling out a string of X-rated jokes playing off President Bush's
name.
This wasn't the first time that "entertainers" have felt the need to
resort to obscene humor at a political event held at Radio City Music
Hall.
Four years ago, the Democratic National Committee held a fund-raiser
at the same venue. Then-presidential nominee Al Gore was in
attendance. Comedian and actor John Leguizamo got on stage and
proceeded to unleash a volley of obscene and scatological comments.
Gore failed to upbraid Leguizamo or any of the event producers.
RADIO CITY FILTH FEST

Transcript Sunday, August 31, 2003 Meet the Press
Oct. 9, 2002 MSNBC
MR. RUSSERT: I went back and re-read your speech on the floor of the
Senate October 9, and I want to share that with you and our viewers...
SEN. KERRY: Absolutely.
MR. RUSSERT: ...because you repeated many of exactly the same claims
and concerns that President Bush did.
SEN. KERRY: Correct.
MR. RUSSERT: Let’s watch.
(Videotape, October 9, 2002):
SEN. KERRY: Iraq has some lethal and incapacitating agents and is
capable of quickly producing weaponizing of a variety of such agents,
including anthrax, for delivery on a range of vehicles, such as bombs,
missiles, aerial sprayers and covert operatives which would bring them
to the United States itself.
In addition, we know they are developing unmanned aerial vehicles
capable of delivering chemical and biological warfare agents.
According to the CIA’s report, all U.S. intelligence experts agree
that they are seeking nuclear weapons. There is little question that
Saddam Hussein wants to develop them.
In the wake of September 11, who among us can say with any certainty
to anybody that the weapons might not be used against our troops or
against allies in the region? Who can say that this master of
miscalculation will not develop a weapon of mass destruction even
greater, a nuclear weapon?

Title: Slowly But Surely The Truth Comes Out, That Liberals Hate America. 12 Aug 2004 05:03:45 AM
Slowly But Surely The Truth Comes Out, That Liberals Hate America.
As the Democrats continue to hammer their "Bush lied, Bush lied"
theme, bit by bit the real story is coming out.
First we have this insistence on the part of Democrats that Bush told
the American people that Saddam Hussein was directly tied to the
terrorist attacks of 9/11. An editorial writer for the Cleveland
Plain Dealer made just such an assertion, and then was challenged by a
reader to back it up. The editorial writer took the challenge, did the
research, and then wrote a column in which he admitted that Bush had
never, in fact, made any such statement.
Democrats are also fond of saying that Bush's claims that there was a
connection between Saddam and Al Qaeda was a lie. Looks like the
democrats are going to have to eat some crow on that one too. A
recent issue of an independent Baghdad newspaper contains an interview
with a former Iraqi army officer who talked about the presence of Al
Qaeda terrorists in training camps in Iraq.
"They were a mixture of Arabs, Arabs from the Peninsula [Saudi
Arabia], Muslim Afghans, and other Muslims from various parts of the
world. They were divided into two groups, the first one went to
Al-Nahrawan and the second to Salman Pak, and this was the group that
was trained to hijack airplanes. The
training was under the direct supervision of major general (M. DH. L)
[only identified by initials] who now serves as a police commander in
one of the provinces. Upon the completion of the training most of them
left Iraq, while the others stayed in the country through the last
battle in Baghdad against the coalition forces.
"On April 5, 2003 orders were issued to send these individuals to the
battle front immediately. About 100 of them were sent to the 11th
company division in Nasiriya. And for the sake of history I will say
that this
division's endurance was due to some formidable fighters, the
commanding officer and members of Al-Qa'ida who fought with intensity
and brutality that are seldom matched, while they were praising
Allah."
This report will be largely ignored by Democrats. They don't want the
truth to get in the way of their lie or their drive to return to their
rightful position of power in Washington.
Boortz.com, nailing them as usual!

terrorist attacks of 9/11.

Slowly But Surely The Truth Comes Out, That Liberals Hate America.

[snip generic all-purpose reactionary rant]
Here's a clue: liberals *are* America. When you poll them
on the genuine issues, Americans overwhelmingly support the
environment, education, civil rights and an end to Jim
Crow, a woman's right to her own body, reasonable gun
restrictions, etc. - even many who identify themselves as
"conservatives" support core liberal principles without
realizing it.
IOW, it's the reactionaries who hate America.
[snip even more moronic Man Coulter screed]
