Busy People vs. Lazy People |
This came in an email today:
Elroy,
Are you busy? There is an old saying "if you want
something done - ask a busy person".
Who said that exactly? Some busybody??
I think I have a better saying on hand:
"If you want something done most efficiently, ask a lazy person
to do it, and they'll find the best way to do it with the least amount
of energy."
This is the motto of the person who invented the wind mill
and claimed that he was tired of hauling up water from the
well by hand...
"Let the wind do the work instead of me," he said...

i think its more along the lines of those too lazy to do physical work vs.
those too lazy to do mental work.
x-stains tend to be in the latter group.
may the protestant work ethic rot in the ***** of jeebus!

Somebody who knows my mom. :-)
Seriously, a busy person is probably organized enough to do what they
say they will. A lazy person probably isn't.

A sign I saw in a cubicle at work says something like "If I don't seem

True, but it's the busy people who go looking for more time to do what
they're doing, who look for easier, quicker ways to do them. Lazy people
can't be bothered to do anything anyway.

I am reminded of the old story about the four types of Generals.
It seems that military commanders can be described by two attributes:
Smart vs Stupid and Lazy vs Energetic. Smart and Energetic are the best
commanders, they know what they're doing and they get things done. Smart
and Lazy aren't so bad either, they're the ones always looking for
easier ways to do things. Stupid and Lazy is next, they may be foolish
but they don't bother to screw things up too badly. The ones to watch
out for are the Stupid and Energetic types. They're the ones who go
charging head on into trouble.
