California Advanced Health Care Directive |
In order to avoid something like the Schiavo case happening to you, it would
be wise to fill out the California Advanced Health Care Directive (or
something equivalent). I have and here is a copy in case you want it:
http://jcsm.org/MISC/CaliforniaAHCD.htm
God bless,

In order to avoid something like the Schiavo case happening to you, it
would be wise to kill all republicscums and religious fruitcakes.

Oh, no, Tukkles. I'd never do that to you. (To me, on the
other hand...) There's always the North Forty herd which
has fresh fundies and other types of Republiscum added
to it daily, y'know.

For those who feel that this is a rather blatant attempt, yet again, by
Jason to inflate the hit count on his site, here are two other references,
both in PDF, that are available:
www.lentillem.com/AHCD.pdf
www.hogefenton.com/PDF%20Files/advance.pdf
State laws vary, however, and so it would be prudent to check the
requirements in the state--and country--in which you live. Jason seems to
forget that probably relatively few readers are from or in the state
of California. That strikes me as rather provincial thinking for one with
a "worldwide" ministry that has presumably touched "millions," but then,
Jason has always been impressed with numbers. That is why it was not a
problem for him to use this very tragic set of circumstances to try to
increase traffic to his site.

The guy can do no right in your eyes.
These other sites probably don't have anything like the exposure of Jason's
sites, so putting up the document on his site was a valuable public service
to Americans.
Nota bene, he didn't suggest to people which way they ought to choose in the
area of prolonging life or not prolonging life, he simply showed a way to
avoid falling into a legal no-man's land, as in the Schiavo case.
Only the most cynical piece of legal mafia scum could be pissed with someone
for that.

He did not say only that, he said "something like that". In this case, if he
has shown what is available in California, then he has given people the
opportunity to look for the equivalent in their state or to devise their own
form of words if they cannot find it. He did not suggest that only this one
was to be used.
So, I ask you, can you be fair, for once?
Or is that asking too much?

They do not have the same exposure as Gastrich's site, because unlike
Gastrich they reach many people.

Do you think that is the reason Gastrich gets criticised? He wasn't
criticized for taking a side in the Schiavo case, but for pretending
his click-through is to the source site.

The same can, and often is, asked of you.

It is, in effect, a pro-forma living will. It covers all bases and
leaves those responsible for a person's care in no doubt as to the
wishes of the patient.
This puts us all in charge of our lives, including their conclusion
and that is all any sentient, living being can wish for, especially
if, like me and a growing majority of the civilised world, you don't
believe in God.
