Cardinal Law for Pope? |
Perfect way to get back at the people (or at least give them the finger)
who have been slinging mud at the Church.
It would also be a great show of "stand by your man."

Letting him say mass at the Pope's funeral was the Church's way of
saying "***** you!" to the world. Beyond that, I trust the Church is
politically savvy enough not to elect a Pope who is going to be a
lightning rod for criticism and have no moral authority whatsoever from
day one.

That's their normal mode of operation.

Why should the next one be any different from most of his predecessors?

He probably won't, but I think he'll be someone Catholics will accept,
at least. Someone like Law will not be accepted by American Catholics,
and I imagine they are smart enough to realize how dangerous that can
be for the Church.

So we have Ratsinger. The grand inquisitor as Pope. I think, perhaps,
Law would have been better. On third thought, they are both worse than
the other one.

ROFLMAO. Law in the Poop slot would definately indicate the RCC is
'lawless.'

Given that Law is a possible pope let's choose a name for him in the
eventuality. My ironic choice for Bernard Law as papal elect is Pope
Innocent.

I see the RCC went for "Truth in Advertising." Pope Rat or the rat
pope.
