CASH REWARD |
CASH REWARD(1)
Jim Lippard
The Internal Test looks at internal consistencies and inconsistencies within
the [Christian bible?New Testament] manuscript.
The New Testament fails this test. There are innumerable manuscript
variants, plus logical errors and inconsistencies between different accounts
of the same events.
The Skeptical Review and Ralph Nielsen each offer $1,000 (for a total of
$2,000) to anyone who can produce a single consistent narrative of the
resurrection appearances of Jesus as described in the four gospels, Acts and
1 Corinthians 15, without deleting any details or adding any purely
speculative material. This challenge has been publicized in The Skeptical
Review (one year free from P.O. Box 617, Canton, IL 61520-0617) and also in
Tucson's Good News newspaper.
So far as I know, nobody has even attempted to take up the challenge.

So if one points out that all of the accounts can be reconciled when A
is true, A is considered "purely speculative" and the explanation is
automatically rejected.
Example:
Little Joey was sent home from school early because of reports that the
President had been shot and killed.
That could have been true if the date was November 22, 1963 and the
President was John Kennedy.
But that must be rejected because the date and the President's name
were not mentioned in the original statement and are thus "purely
speculative".

This is how it went.
Little Joey was sent home from school early because of reports that the
President had been shot and killed.
2000 years later.
Little Joey Christ was sent by God to be crucified on a cross to pay for the
sins of the evil terrorists who killed the messiah president.

"Little Joey" didn't show up at home because "Little Joey" and his
friends took the teacher hostage and had a gun battle with the police,
which scared the hell out of his friends who then turned him over to
the police. "Little Joey" was then lynched but there are reports he
will be coming home "soon."

Actually we have at least 6 different tellings of the same event and each
is different, some significantly. But wait, it gets better. Who was this
Jesus guy anyway? Why are there so many guys that performed the same set
of miracles, were executed on a cross, died and came back to life,
resurrected, and came back after 3 days? One of the very first Christs was
Horus. The parallels are downright spooky from his mother named a
derivative of Mary and his fathers name a derivitive of Joseph to his death
and resurrection. So which Christ do we actually believe? Horus,
Appalonius, Jesus or ????. To be honest this whole Jesus thing is likely
just a myth just like that Christmas (Dec 25) is his birthday.
I would like to see anyone prove Jesus was born on Dec 25th and do a
credible job of it.

===>False analogy.
It is more like:
1. Little Joey was sent home from school early because of reports that the
President had been shot and killed.
2. Little Joey was kept in a school lock-down because of reports that the
President had been shot and killed.
3. Little Joey was sent home from school early because of reports that the
President had been shot and killed, but Joey never showed up at home.
500 people saw him wandering the streets of Sidney, Australia.
4. Little Joey was sent home from school early, but no one knows when and
why that happened.
