Writing in the online magazine American Chronicle ("Above the law," Jan.
27), Barbara Anderson points out the strong influence the U.S. Conference
of Catholic Bishops has had on immigration policy.
It has caused Catholic pulpits nationwide to urge open borders for legal
and illegal aliens alike, she notes. "The Catholic Campaign for Human
Development uses money from generous Catholics to train illegals to lobby
and agitate for 'rights' for illegals," says Anderson.

Did Jesus believe Holy Scripture should be
separated from daily life and government?
22:16 And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying,
Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth,
neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.
22:17 Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute
unto Caesar, or not?
22:18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye
hypocrites?
22:19 Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.
22:20 And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
22:21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore
unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are
God's.
Does the constitution actually say that NO organized religion can make a
public statement on government policies?
No, it does not.
In fact "organized" isn't in there at all.
An "organized religion" can say or do anything, anytime it wants to (as long
as said religion does not break secular laws) but, if it asks for "charity
status" then it obeys /those/ laws or "pays" the consequences.
There are a number of churches that do not operate as "charities" and they
pay their taxes. No one is trying to stop them, in fact, they can yell,
"George Bush is the Son of God - The Real One" and they can wander around and
do great and wonderful things as well as disgusting and nauseating things all
they want (subject to secular law - human sacrifices are a no-no).
Pay your taxes and enjoy your privileges and powers - don't pay your taxes -
be a charity - and lose that which you agreed to give up when you - your
organization - applied for charity status.
But, getting back to your question:
Did Jesus believe Holy Scripture should be
separated from daily life and government?
Jesus appeared to be more interested in His Father's
kingdom than the kingdom on Earth but see:
21:11 And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of
Galilee.
21:12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold
and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and
the seats of them that sold doves,
21:13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house
of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
And this is (or is /supposed/ to be) the "religion" of those that follow
Jesus and live a Christ-like life.
And these supposed "Christ-like" worshippers have ignored the words of Jesus:
Then saith he unto them, Render therefore
unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's;
and unto God the things that are God's.
and
And said unto them, It is written, My
house shall be called the house of
prayer; but ye have made it a den
of thieves.
And "Christians" (well, those /claiming/ to be "Christ-like") have put "IN
GOD WE TRUST" on the moneychangers' linen and inserted "under God" into
"Caesar's Pledge".
That's not "Christ-like" - that's blasphemy.
