Challenging the Christian Right
The Activist's Handbook
Frederick Clarkson & Skipp Porteous
This is a good start, they are sound principles.
We know, of course, that some true-believer types interpret these ideas
as meaning discrimination against their desire to pray in public and
have religious observances in public schools. Their own religious
devotions, of course.

They are a little outdated since the handbook was published in the
early 90s, 93 if I am not mistaken.
But it can be brought up to date with some work on the part of
interested persons
What is really eye opening in reading it over is how it shows where
they (radical religious right) were back then (still very much in the
beginning phases of their campaign to take over local school bds, had
not yet totally taken over the Republican party, and so on, and where
they are today on the edge of taking over the entire country and
establishing a theocracy.
The good news is, the exact same formula they used to get where they
are can be used pretty much intact to remove them from where they are
today.
I heard a very wise man say once, "The key that locks the door is the
very same key that unlocks that same door."
Use the same formula that put them where they are to take them away
from where they are.

Yes, but that is their propaganda. Just alike their Madison Ave sound
bite propaganda that they put out that says anyone who is supportive
of church state separation is anti-religious and so on.
Of course, it has been and still is very effective for them.
Just like in the late 80s and into the 90s the sound bite "gay rights"
implying special rights. That worked great for them, even after some
admitted it was made up a product of an advertising firm.
Still works for them with some.

.. . . You can't understand a phrase such as "Congress shall make no law
respecting an establishment of religion" by syllogistic reasoning. Words
take their meaning from social as well as textual contexts, which is why "a
page of history is worth a volume of logic." New York Trust Co. v. Eisner,
