Child Abuse in Action: "Jesus Camp...the Movie"Comments? |
Jesus Camp is a documentary about the "Kids On Fire School of
Ministry," a pentecostal summer camp located just outside Devils Lake,
North Dakota and run by Becky Fischer and her ministry, Kids in
Ministry International
At the camp, Fischer stresses the need for children to purify
themselves in order to be part of the "army of God." She strongly
believes that children need to be in the forefront of turning America
toward conservative Christian values. She also feels that Christians
need to focus on training kids in religious warfare since "the enemy"
are focused on training theirs.
In one scene shot at Christ Triumphant Church, Lou Engle, the chief
"prophet" (a term not used in the film) for Harvest International
Ministries (the "apostolic network" with which both the church and
Fischer's ministry are affiliated--an affiliation not advertised in
the film) and founder of the Justice House of Prayer, preaches a
message urging children to join the fight to end abortion in America.
He prays for George W. Bush to have the strength to appoint "righteous
judges" who will overturn Roe v. Wade. By the end of the sermon, the
children are chanting, "Righteous judges! Righteous judges!" In
another, a woman brings a life-sized cutout of Bush to the front of
the church, and has the children stretch their hands toward him and
pray for him.
This camp is not even a laughing matter,
it is a total disgrace. It really is like a nightmare..
I could not believe my eyes and ears.I felt like these kids were
having their childhood ripped away from them and almost abused. I
sure as
hell hope this type of militant, pro Bush, fanatical perverted angle
of
Christianity does not become too popular or remotely mainstream.
This movie will give intelligent and peace
loving non Christians the creeps and quite put off Christianity..
Jesus Camp' speaks without commentary like an ice pick to the heart
and
mind. In the United States we are in the presence of a dangerous and
powerful Evangelical Christian movement that runs from local churches
all the way to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Unless a person is steeped
in
such fundamentalism, I think viewers will come away from 'Jesus Camp'
with an extreme sense of urgency for rational organization and action
against this spreading virus.
Maybe the film can shed light on the horrible indoctrination of these
poor children. Some of them will escape their parent's religion, but
too
many will stay to repeat the memetic cycle with another generation of
eager and impressionable young boys and girls.
We can always walk out of the movie theatre, but Ted Haggard, Becky
Fisher, President Bush and millions of Evangelicals will be waiting
for
us in the real world, and how we handle their rising brand of
fundamentalism will likely shape our nation and the world for
generations to come.
(Here's the real kicker!!!)
In November 2006, Fischer announced that she would be shutting down
the camp indefinitely due to negative reaction to the film. According
to Fischer's website, the owners of the property used for the camp
shown in the film were concerned about vandalism to the premises
following the film's release and thus will not allow it to be used for
any future camps. Fischer has said that the camp will be indefinitely
postponed until other suitable premises can be found, but it will be
back

Jesus Camp or Terrorism for Kiddies
I'd rather not subject myself to that form self-flagellation, but then
the idea emerges that just perhaps, all thinking citizens should see
what these christo-fascists are really doing to these young kids makes
some sense

do with it...

That place makes the Salvation Army look like a geriatric bunch of
pacifists.

Yes they actually drill the boys in their "parade ground", while teaching
the girls to be subservient to them and anti-feminist.

Like kids are really going to be concerned about abortion.
He prays for George W. Bush to have the strength to appoint "righteous
judges" who will overturn Roe v. Wade. By the end of the sermon, the
children are chanting, "Righteous judges! Righteous judges!" In

It actually looked like they were praying *to* him! I nearly threw up when I
saw that pre-pubescent girl who'd been trained to cry for aborted foetuses:
Come to think of it that was the place I first saw a couple of Dimwit's
faked abortion pictures.
This camp is not even a laughing matter,
it is a total disgrace. It really is like a nightmare..
Let's face it; it's only a sex-crime away from paedophilia in action. - It's
some of the worst abuse of children I've ever seen!
I could not believe my eyes and ears.I felt like these kids were
having their childhood ripped away from them and almost abused.
Is a rose by another name not still a rose?
I

hell hope this type of militant, pro Bush, fanatical perverted angle

It made me feel quite ill.
Jesus Camp' speaks without commentary like an ice pick to the heart

An excellent piece of description.

powerful Evangelical Christian movement that runs from local churches

Didn't Dimwit speak up in support of it when someone posted a link to the
clip in the alt.dating group?

Fisher, President Bush and millions of Evangelicals will be waiting
for
us in the real world, and how we handle their rising brand of
fundamentalism will likely shape our nation and the world for
generations to come.
I was extremely surprised the authorities didn't storm the place and close
it down with a court order.
(Here's the real kicker!!!)

Ironically, as I was reading the above, Tony Blair (Bush's ex-boyfriend.)
just said in a recording on telly; "I did what I thought was right..(Lied
about Iraq's WMD; assisted Dubya in his quest for world domination and
warmongering.) I have religious conviction; I don't think there's anything
wrong with religious conviction."
That's just the thing; they (Xians) honestly don't think there's anything
wrong with anything , no matter what, if they do it "In the name of Jesus".
It's always been that way - Torturing and burning people for not agreeing
with them; "Holy" warfare, theft, murder, every concievable crime
"innocently" committed "For Jesus"!
