Chinese executive kills self amid recall |
"BEIJING - The head of a Chinese manufacturer whose lead-tainted Sesame
Street toys were the center of a massive U.S. recall has killed himself,
a state-run newspaper said Monday.
Cheung Shu-hung, who co-owned Lee Der Industrial Co., committed suicide
at a warehouse over the weekend, apparently by hanging himself, the
Southern Metropolis Daily reported..."

Asians seem to have higher moral code of taking responsibility. If we
would apply in the US the same code, we would have lot less corrupt
CEO's, neocons, former CIA chiefs, DoD high executives still around.
But under the Bush regime, screw ups to be rewarded by medals or
advancement. Upside down world, we live in!

Ah, if we could just import that behavior along with the products...
But you'll notice that none of the Chinese leaders - who refuse to
pass safety laws, which is the base cause of the problem - is the
least bit concerned with anything other than how this will tarnish
China's image.
