Only the immature perceptive brain 'can' exist under images such that
Michelanglo gave us...as a literal interpretation of God [old man reaching
down from the clouds etc...zotting lightning bolts and such]. Language is a
system of 'symbols', by which meanings are contained. Reaching beyond the
concrete is usually necessary for a vital belief in God [I would argue
anyway].
What remains curious to me, is that Cultural Marxism as established by the
Frankfurt School, put Christianity at the top of it's list of things needed
to be brought down along the manfesto's 'Grand March through the
institutions' to change western culture. They connected dots, and termed
Western Civilization as Christianity's fortress in the world. To their
analysis, that 'fortress' held people captive to national identities and
loyalties not based on rationality, but upon the emotions and kept the
'worker' imprisoned to their master capitalists through allegiance based
upon flags and other symbols of national self. Thusly, workers did not
rebell in Europe because of this more structured sense of identity they
argued.
Anyway, as Christianity becomes more and more under attack and slowly
brought to it's knees as an institution in the west, one has to wonder 'why'
this is happening. We talk about hate, but I offer a new term...'reverse
hate', as being the fundamental spiritual essence of the liberal vehiemence
toward anything traditional or 'old world' it seems. Da Vinci code is
probably just opportunists getting on the bandwagon to make a buck.
Christian bashing is in vogue these days...

ok so in the title it says "mixes fact and fiction". i get the fiction part,
but the fact part?
