Excerpt:
KENNEDALE, Texas - It's 2:30 on a Thursday afternoon, and inside a
windowless adult video store a dozen people are perusing XXX-rated movie
titles. Pastor Jim Norwood surmises this because he has photographed the
customers' cars in the parking lot, carefully adjusting his digital camera
so that each license plate is in focus.
Each car owner will soon get a postcard in the mail from Norwood's Oakcrest
Family Church. On the front will be a color photo of their vehicle in the
video store parking lot. On the back will be a note: "Observed you in the
neighborhood. Didn't know if you were aware there is a church in the area .
please stop by next time. We'd love to have you visit."

So how does he tie a license plate to an address? Is that kind of
information publicly available in the US? In the UK obtaining that
information without a court or police order would break the data
protection act, and quite possibly result in a variety of criminal
charges.

Good question. There shouldn't be a way to do this, legally. Unless
they tail them home. However I wouldn't be surprised to discover a
member of the police force rendering them this assistance. Make a
good lawsuit if they did.

In Texas, the information is considered public information. There's a
variety of online databases that will trace a plate for you.

I'd place a sign by my license plate saying, "Yes, this is my car, and I'm
exercising my FREEDOM to buy porn!"

Excerpt:
KENNEDALE, Texas - It's 2:30 on a Thursday afternoon, and inside a
windowless adult video store a dozen people are perusing XXX-rated
movie titles. Pastor Jim Norwood surmises this because he has
photographed the customers' cars in the parking lot, carefully
adjusting his digital camera so that each license plate is in focus.
Each car owner will soon get a postcard in the mail from Norwood's
Oakcrest Family Church. On the front will be a color photo of their
vehicle in the video store parking lot. On the back will be a note:
"Observed you in the neighborhood. Didn't know if you were aware there
is a church in the area . please stop by next time. We'd love to have
you visit."
I'd sign his ***** up for "Juggs" magazine just for that.

In Houston a few years ago, a bunch of idiots hung out in the
parking lot of some nudie bar and photographed patrons going in for a
similar purpose. I don't recall how it ended, but I heard about it
because they were taken to court, and the reporter seemed suprised the
people were being sued rather than beat up.

People would get a photo of their car next to a church with a

observe at close quarters and photograph. We'd love to have you

Wow - and if a child in the home read that? It's unconscionable to
involve a child in your sexual activities. Where does this jerk get
off doing that?
I bet he gets beat up for it though.
