Object: "Christian" poll
A friend of mine, Bruce Garrett, forwarded this e-mail
he received. I'm sure quite a few of you had seen this
already -- I know -- but it stands repeating.
Anyhow, "The AFA," if you didn't know, it a right-wing
group and a full fledged member of the "Christian Reich."
Dear Bruce,
Participation in America's Poll on Homosexual Marriage at
marriagepoll.com <http://www.marriagepoll.com> continues
at a steady pace. As of noon Saturday, December 28, the results
were as follows:
* I oppose legalization of homosexual marriage and "civil unions"
total votes: 201914
* I favor legalization of homosexual marriage total votes: 378691
* I favor a "civil union" with the full benefits of marriage except
for the name: 52238
If you have not already voted, click here <http://marriagepoll.com> to
do so. Be sure to forward the poll on to your family and friends.
Only votes that have a valid email address associated with them will be
counted. We will be purging those with invalid email addresses, which
may cause poll results to change somewhat.
Sincerely,
Don
Donald E. Wildmon, Founder and Chairman
American Family Association <http://www.afa.net>
P.S. Please forward this email to at least one friend.

Glad to see gay marriage being favored in this poll. Usually, online polls
are skewed to the political right...perhaps due to the sheer number of AOL
and WebTV users online.

Only votes that have a valid email address associated with them will be
counted.

Good thing I have a separate email address that's valid, but which I never
use for actual correspondence, instead providing it only to potential
spammers. Though they assure us we will not be spammed, the American Family
Association, being a right-wing, fundamentalist organization (i.e. shameless
liars), can't be trusted under any circumstances.

Dear Bruce,

No pooftas for him, obviously.

A few weeks ago, ChickenNoodleNews had a "poll" that was a
blatant exhibition of their capitulation to fascism. A US
soldier was punished and fined $5000 for torturing a prisoner
(Iraqi or Afghani, I forget) and the poll question was:
Do you think the punishment for the soldier was
[ ] Too much
[ ] Fair
Where the hell was the choice for "not enough"? Apparently
US soldiers who commit crimes don't deserve punishment, but
Afghanis fighting to defend their country (yet they aren't
terrorists) deserve the death penalty. Unsurprisingly, they
didn't respond to my email asking why.

Only votes that have a valid email address associated with them will be
counted.

Hey, you've got money in your pocket that belongs to them
and they need to ask you for it. Atop of that, they have
to save the souls of those fools who think legalization
of gay marriage is a good idea.
