Object: Christian slogan: Make War Not Love!
Funny. They were at the point of impeaching Clinton for, you know,
giving his banana to a sexy lady. Yet they remain silent when their
candidate uses the gun to invade countries using the Law of the
Jungle. Gee, THEY SUPPORT WAR NOT LOVE!

Hey, sins of the flesh don't rate as bad as sins of violence...
"His Violence. He labours to storm the castle of the heart; he stirs
up passion, lust, and revenge. These are called 'fiery darts,' Ephes.
vi.16 because they oft set the soul on fire. Satan in regard to his
fierceness is called a Lion, 1 Peter iv. 6. 'Your adversary the Devil
is a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour.' Not
(saith Chrysostom) whom he may bite, but devour."
http://www.fivesolas.com/watson/soldier7.htm
And we mean to give the banana to Satan the Lion... ;)

Actually, they reached the point of impeachment and went past that, in fact,
to impeach him. He was not convicted though. Also, he was not being
impeached for banana giving, he was being impeached for lying to a grand
jury and telling someone to lie to investigators in a sexual harassment
case. Much of the "trial" and media coverage did in fact deal with his
banana's involvement, of course.

Disclaimer: I am not a fan of George Bush (I or II), did not vote for him,
not a Republican, do not support the war, and I am very much in favor of
giving bananas to whoever requests them.

PS. What's with the crossposting? Follow-ups set to alt.atheism only.

(Sorry for the crossposting, but it serves to spread to news about,
when one doesn't own Big Media)
I understand the circumstances of it, and yet their candidate
committed a much greater sin, plus he lied too.
So we can safely assume that they are worried about love not war!!! :(

WHAT NEWS. Are you saying that your hate filled rants pass as news?
President Bush has done the job that the American people elected him
to do - protect the United States. You may disagree with how he is
doing that job, but he is President and you are not. Once you are
elected president (God forbid) you can do it the way you want to. But
to be very clear nothing he has done violate the constitution (if it
did that angry mob that call themselves democratics would have used
that to lynch him).

He was elected president through issues fabricated by him, ie.
abortion and gay marriage.
Real issues, like peace or bike facilities, because they thought the
Christians didn't have an appetite for them.

Even if you were right, so what? Do you understand the magnitude of
the effort required to be elected President of the United States. You
have to convince a tremendously large number of people to vote for
you. Logically it is even harder to do this with ideas that "you make
up" rather then ones that already resonate with the voting populace.
However, either way it is a difficult task.
Unless you belong to a fringe nut crowed who somehow thought to
cheated in Ohio to win the election, he won the election. The issues
he used to do so don't make that win any more or less legitimate.
Maybe you just need to face the fact that your ideas are in the
minority.

Well, thanks for the offer, but I've put together this "revolution" to
be "self serve." Many good ideas are sitting right here...
http://webspawner.com/users/donquijote1
Maybe I can replace some day ideas that have been around for 2000
years, which would make proud, but I may simply be satisfied with
reaching the goal of having bikes be a common sight on our roads. In
the meantime, I keep remind them that the jungle is in our past and in
our daily struggle. But I don't feel in the minority, most people
around the world, particularly in Europe, think like me, and the
scientific community knows the reality of evolution. My ideas reaching
mainstream in America would be COMMON SENSE OVER IGNORANCE. Actually
they had a lot of power in the 60's...
"Compassion and humanism were a virtue"
Notice the past tense, "were." No more. The new virtues now are WAR,
MONEY and SUVs --so to command respect. You must be tough. No wimpy
hippies on bikes welcome, no thoughts of saving gas so we can avoid
war and environmental degradation. Just keep on rolling until the end
of times. It's written in the Bible, right? Coming soon. Nuclear war
with Iran (a direct consequence of Iraq) is an announced possibility.
And children are denied healthcare. The Law of the Jungle is back...
And we are suppose to smile and pray?
Q: What has happened to compassion and humanism of the American
people? How come this twist of 'reality' in the heads and hearts of
human beings today? What has happened to compassion and humanism of
the planet Earth?
Compassion and humanism were a virtue and a value in America after 2.
world war; and freedom of creativeness blossomed.
Hippies - 'flower power' - non-scarred, humanistic, unbiased children
of America, hating nobody, suddenly noticed the stupidity of all wars
and the beautiful world of colors and diversity. They sat down in a
circle, lit the 'pipe of peace', looked at each other's eyes, smiled
to each other and started singing: >>Peace! Freedom! Flowers!
Happiness! Make love, not war!<<
After the European renaissance of blossoming of Socrates' Athens,
after the renaissance of Francis Assisi's Italy, both bowing to a
woman's soul - nature, naturality and compassion -, the renaissance
happened in America.
But the aggressive, moralistic, machistic, possessive, pray seeking
father - American bureaucracy didn't notice the heroism of a child,
who is rejecting the hatred, greed and fears of the 'outer world'
putting down the arms; a child that is fearlessly and with confidence
of a free-hearted being looking in the eyes of a neighbor, a child
that is amazed by beauty of a rainbow and mystery of nature. A child
that is hugging the entire planet.
Worshiping Planet Earth, colorfully dressed, nonviolent children
looked like disorder in the eyes of militant Pentagon. The government
declared dancing 'flower children' a 'junkie' and 'no balls' children.
Pacifism, ecology and considerate socialism - ethical relationship
with co-human, friendship, non-competitional society -, the militant
'father' in the White House proclaimed a sin. Non-competitive, non-
aggressive, and their own head using 'artistic' children were named
'losers' and 'gay'. Because compassion means whimpering - to a macho.
Peace demanding nonviolent hippies, offended and hurt, dressed
themselves in mourning black robes and mutated in self-destructive,
self-torturing punckers with needles and rings in their tongues,
navels, genitals. Just to prove to the father that they have the guts,
that they can bear the pain, which they just do not want to
participate in a destructive fight with the world 'outside' demanding:

Make war, not love. Fight or flight. Win or die.<<

Can you name one time in history where pacifism (as opposed to
strength) brought peace in the face of war? I can name numerous
situations where stregnth brought peace (in the face of war) without
requiring a shot to be fired.

WHY THE BANANA REVOLUTION?http://webspawner.com/users/bananarevolution

Can you name one time in history where pacifism (as opposed to
strength) brought peace in the face of war? =A0I can name numerous
situations where stregnth brought peace (in the face of war) without
requiring a shot to be fired.- Hide quoted text -

What better example than the USSR, Velvet, Orange and other peaceful
revolutions. You couldn't possibly beat the Russian bear by force, so
only the contradictions within the system could make it crumble.
The Law of the Jungle may have been good before WWII, but in the
Nuclear Age it's a risky gamble. And sooner or later nuclear weapons
are going to be widespread enough to fall in the hands of rogue states
or terrorists...
Another example is North Korea. Even America is now trying to pacify
it by nonviolent means, where the little country already entered the
nuclear club, making it almost impossible to invade. The lesson from
Iraq is: If you are a bad guy without nuclear weapons you are in
trouble. And if you've got oil, you are lunch...

And what is the revolution, World Revolution? Well, maybe...
But there's another type of revolution, facing everyday struggles like
those of the poorly paid workers at the factories, or those of the
cyclists who are discriminated on our Darwinistic roads... It's the
revolution that starts like a wheel revolving around its axis,
practical and natural...
"Life in the sea may never be the same. Nor will life be in the
factories. Join the Union!"

Maybe you just need to face the fact that your ideas are in the
minority.- Hide quoted text -

And we mean to give the banana to Satan the Lion... ;)

You're missing the point. The Republican party is ruled by Satan
himself, with Bush as his top spokesperson, and Chekey and others as
his demons.
