Gov. Bush May Appeal Schiavo Decision
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- Attorneys for Gov. Jeb Bush said he may appeal
the decision by the Florida Supreme Court that struck down a law created to
keep a severely brain-damaged woman hooked to a feeding tube.
The seven-member court unanimously ruled that Bush and lawmakers improperly
tried to pull an end-run around the court system in the case of Terri
Schiavo, who has been at the center of a long and bitter right-to-die
dispute that pits her husband against his in-laws.
Bush has 10 days to ask for a rehearing. Either action could stop, at least
temporarily, any attempt to remove the tube.
As early as 2000, lower courts had ruled that Michael Schiavo could have
his wife's feeding tube removed. But last October, the Legislature passed
``Terri's Law'' to override the courts, and Bush quickly invoked it to
order the tube reinserted, six days after it had been withdrawn.

If the Christian heaven really is all that and a bag of chips, why not let
Terri die with some shred of dignity? Certainly, a death cult should have no
fear of death.

How ironic/moronic.
That the Bush brothers should spend so much time and energy saving a
single person who is nearly dead, then turn around and blithely kill
thousands of young soldiers by sending them to invade a sovereign
nation, staggers my imagination.
What is going on in their tiny minds?
I bet the Florida mothers of the dead soldiers wish that Jeb had an
equivalent concern for extending the lives of their sons, as he does
for Terri.

I bet those Florida mothers would be as disgusted as I am at your
invoking their dead sons memories for your despicable partisan swipe at
the Bushes.
And no, I think Jebbie had no business intruding on the decision to take
Terry Schiavo off of life support.

I'm with you on that case. The thing is, as a xtian, JB believes life is
sacrosanct. So he'll let the vegetable lives as long as it takes, while
of course sending murderers to the execution chamber.
BTW, I think the woman should live, and I'm against the death penalty.
