Christianity is a Joke |
The whole premise of christianity really is stupid. There is an all
powerful god who got pissed because the people he created were doing
wrong, so he sent his son (who is really him) down to be killed by
them. WTF? If god had half a brain, he should be even MORE pissed that
we tortured and killed his son.
Of course, since god is supposed to be perfect, if we do wrong it is
because he created us defectively. A perfect being would have perfect
creations, who would use their free will perfectly.
It makes no sense to say that a perfect, omniscient creator was
angered because he didn't like the things his creations were doing.
If he is omniscient, he knew what they would eventually do at the time
they were created, and could have simply made them differently if he
wanted a different result.
I say it is time god got off his big fat *****, and took responsibility
for this mess he made down here, rather than blaming US for his
mistakes.

The only way to understand Christianity is from the Gnostic point
of view. The Gnostics viewed God of this world, Jehovah, as evil.
Christ was sent to liberate us from his tyranny, and restore our
souls to their rightful places among the stars of the heavens.

The standard average explanation does not make logical sense. How does
blood shed from a person wipe away our sins? The short answer is it
doesn't, Jesus simply died a violent death. So why does the Bible say
we are redeemed in the blood of Jesus?
Swedenborg's view of this is the most logical: Jehovah Himself became
incarnate in a human being. His soul was Divine, but the body he
assumed inherited the sinful nature from his mother Mary. It is from
the human body that Jesus endured the most intense temptations, both
mentally and physically. As any thought of temptation comes from the
influence of evil spirits, and as the Divine could not commit any sin,
it is by assuming this human body that Jehovah launched a direct attack
upon hell. Jesus' death on the cross was simply his last temptation.
After this all that was human died, and he became a life giving spirit
available to all men. Thus Jesus said that he must go and leave so
that the Holy Spirit may come, available to anyone who turns from his
sins and asks God for it. It is by turning away from sin, and becoming
washed in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, that truly one's sins become
washed away.

You have to understand that as humans with morals we basically have a
choice between good and evil. That we all know. What is not so well
known is that a life of good brings us into union with spirits in
heaven, and a life according to evil brings us into union with spirits
from hell. If one does not acknowledge the afterlife, the above
explanation does not make sense. There is a good web site called
www.near-death.com which gives evidence that there is much more for us
to experience after death.
As for Swedenborg, perhaps his own writings explain it better. His
writings are online at www.theheavenlydoctrines.org. He had
experiences of remote viewing which are well documented, and were
documented by Kant. All that he wrote was obtained by revelation.

You militant atheists pretty much all work from the same script.
Although viewing yourselves as "free thinkers", you all have a Party Line
you follow rather closely.
It isn't difficult to anticipate your arguments on any
given point. Most intelligent religious individuals almost always can
correctly predict what
you'll say next.Interestingly, militant atheists get much of their beliefs
about "Christianity" from liberal Christians.
They'll pejoratively label all Christians as "Fundies",
then presumptively attack liberal theological concepts
they suppose us "Fundies" subscribe to !
Nearly all militant atheists are followers of the
religion of Scientism. Their priests wear white lab
coats. Their sacramental objects are the microscope,
the telescope, and the test tube. Blasphemy is to
deny the ultimate authority of science.
But the militant atheists -the ones who have devoted
their lives to refuting Christianity- are almost like the
demons ...who believe more firmly in God's existence
than do Christians !
It can unequivocally be stated that militant atheists are some
of the people who most solidly believe in God !
Ain't talking 'practical atheists' here ...those who don't
even think much about atheism. They're the true
atheists.
Professional atheists who've dedicated themselves
to eradicating the Lord do so because they hate Him.
They're the God-haters.
To which they'll invariably reply: 'How can we hate
something we don't believe in ?'.
Exactly ! It's their belief in God which drives them to
relentlessly attack Him.
Run of the mill, everyday 'practical atheists' don't
give God a second thought. They're the ones
I worry about.
Whereas militant atheists are fighting against the
innate knowledge of suppressed in their hearts.
As a militant atheist I can unequivocally state that there is no time in
your life that you
totally disbelieved in God. And -in fact- were driven to
work against the Lord by belief in Him !
It isn't that militant atheists don't believe God exists.
Instead: That they don't want God to exist.

Not true at all, xtianity is much worse than other superstitions.
Of course, there is really no need for any superstition - humanity
will be much better off when all of them have been abolished and

Mental Anarchy - Free Your Mind
http://mentalanarchy.com
Hello,
If you base some of your statements on falsehoods, I can understand
your confusion. I am sure you desire truth over falsehood, right? So I
will briefly try to straighten some things out.
Yes, God was not pleased when His children disobeyed. If you are a
parent, are you not upset when your children disobey you?
so he sent his son (who is really him) down to be killed by
them.
God didn't send Himself to be a ransomer for mankind. He sent His Son.
God and Jesus are not the same person. For example Mr 13:32,
"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven,
nor the Son, but only the Father." (NIV)
So why a ransom? Very briefly, God has a certain standard of
principles. We can see them in the Mosaic Law of 'eye for eye, tooth
for tooth' etc. Since a perfect human person (Adam) lost eternal life
for all his offspring, it would take another perfect human life
(Jesus) to gain that back. Without Jesus' ransom, no human would have
any chance of obtaining eternal life. You are in a privileged position
to take advantage of that ransom. Please consider the scope of what
was done for you (and all of us).
Of course, since god is supposed to be perfect, if we do wrong it is
because he created us defectively. A perfect being would have perfect
creations, who would use their free will perfectly.
Yes, in the beginning God created the first two humans, Adam and Eve,
perfectly. And He gave them a measure of will free. And they did use
their free will perfectly at the time, since all of their brain
connections were perfect etc. But to assume that a perfect being with
free will, MUST always obey his Creator, is eliminating the free will
aspect. Free will means just that; free to choose. Thus the choices
Adam and Eve made were not based on any defects on their part. They
had perfect decision-making processes at that time.
God could just as easily created 'robotic' humans that obeyed every
one of His commands; something like the animals behavior, that
basically relies upon built-in instinct.
But God doesn't want that kind of obedience. He wants people to serve
Him because they choose to, and love Him, knowing that only His ways
are the best ways. Jer 10:23,
"I know, O LORD, that a man's life is not his own; it is not for man
to direct his steps." (NIV)
God has the 'blueprint' for the human body and mind, down to the nth
detail. Only He is in the position to know what is good for us, and
what is not. To side-step His wise council is to ask for disaster.
Yes, most of mankind today do not follow the wise council of God as
set out in His written word, the Holy Bible. And the result? One look
around the world today should show you that those following their own
path, instead of God's, can be devastating.
If he is omniscient, he knew what they would eventually do at the time
they were created, and could have simply made them differently if he
wanted a different result.
You are limiting God's powers here. You assume that just because He is
omniscient, He MUST know all things beforehand. The Bible shows that
is not always the case. At times, for whatever His great wise reasons,
God at times chooses NOT to know things. For example the account at Ge
18:21. God chose not to know the situation in Sodom and Gomorrah at
that time. He had to investigate it personally, to see what was going
on. Ge 18:21 reads,
"that I will go down and see if what they have done is as bad as the
outcry that has reached me. If not, I will know." (NIV)
Notice that God wanted to verify what was going on down there, then
"If not, I will know."
God chooses to use His abilities as He sees fit, not as humans think
He should use them.
I hope the above Scriptures have helped you see see some of the
misconceptions you stated above. Of course, I know this probably has
no effect on your accepting true Christianity etc. But at least the
next time you made religious statements about Christianity, you will
be able to make them more accurately.
Sincerely, James

Hello,
If you base some of your statements on falsehoods, I can understand
your confusion. I am sure you desire truth over falsehood, right? So I
will briefly try to straighten some things out.
Yes, God was not pleased when His children disobeyed. If you are a
parent, are you not upset when your children disobey you?
Assuming the existence of the Christian god, it is ridiculous to
compare him with a human parent.
so he sent his son (who is really him) down to be killed by
The concept is both extremely primitive and absurd. An innocent
person is killed to attone for the offense of another. There really
is no way to justify such nonsense.
A perfect being will behave perfectly. Adam and Eve did not behave
perfectly.
God could just as easily created 'robotic' humans that obeyed every
one of His commands; something like the animals behavior, that
basically relies upon built-in instinct.
Or he could have created perfect people who would always choose freely
what was best for them. Obviously Adam and Eve were not perfect.
snip of remaining failure to justify what cannot be justified.

Everything you mention above points quite clearly to just one thing,
Christianity, along with all the thousands of other religions
and their multifarious gods,
are, or were, created by superstitious men and superstitious men only !

Well, no. It's time for the religious to realize their mistakes and
calmly back down. Let's take a look at this for a moment. Fanatical
scientists who push themselves to the limit are the ones who end up
making great discoveries, like penicillin, or non-geocentricism.
Fanatical Christians who push themselves to the limit end up killing
lots of devoted followers, and end up in mental institutions or dead.
The difference should be clear, even to the most simple of minds.

As a Christian, when this explanation was given to me when I was young
concerning how Jesus saved mankind, it made no logical sense
whatsoever. I did not believe it and formulated my own opinion. The
theory you mention concerning Jesus' sacrifice was formulated rather
late by Protestant Christians. The one that is close to mine is the
"Christus Victor" opinion held among the Eastern Orthodox churches,
where the word of God assumed human flesh in order to attack hell and
death directly. I first discovered that opinion on a good wikipedia
article at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_20:7. As he overcame
death, we can now overcome sin by turning away from it and praying for
his Holy Spirit to dwell in us, and live a life of obedience to his
commandments. The "Christus Victor" theory emphasizes the battle
between heaven and hell.
As for your other opinion, where God should have judged the people who
tortured and killed his son, you are correct. There are prophecies in
the Bible (and Dead Sea scrolls and Talmud for that matter) that
judgement would come upon the Jews 40 years after the crucifixion of
Jesus. Best evidence indicates a date of 30-31 A.D. for the
crucifixion, and 40 years after that the Romans invaded Judea and
destroyed their temple (just as they crucified Jesus, who described his
body as a "temple"). The Jews then became a wandering people with no
land until the 20th century.
Of course, since god is supposed to be perfect, if we do wrong it is
because he created us defectively. A perfect being would have perfect
creations, who would use their free will perfectly.
God is love, and created us to learn how to love which requires free
will.
I say it is time god got off his big fat *****, and took responsibility

We are the ones who make the mistakes and should take responsibility
for our actions, not God. To acknowledge our mistakes, and recognize
we are wrong, is the first step. Then action can be taken to correct
it. Acknowledging one's sins, and turning away from them, is the first
step in the Christian life. That is why the gospels begin with the
message of repentance and baptism.
