Christians urge rallies to protest abortion
Christians who fought to keep Floridian Terry Schiavo alive are
imploring abortion opponents to go by the busload to London to protest
the awarding of a degree to Dr. Henry Morgentaler.
The head of a group called Catholics for Life, which formed in response
to the Schiavo case, has used the Internet to contact like-minded
believers in Canada and the United States to tell them about a "pitted
battle over abortion."
Using online message boards, Maureen Chill, who lives in Toronto and
has no connection to the University of Western Ontario, has identified
London as the next site of their struggle.
"This has become a huge struggle. The onslaughts of anti-Catholicism
escalate daily. Please help us," Chill wrote to a seminary student in
Detroit who writes a Catholic blog site called
catholicanalysis.blogspot.com.
"If you are close enough to London, Ont. (north of Niagara Falls),
please organize a bus trip to join in the protest," Chill wrote.
Morgentaler, who led the push to legalize abortion and operates
abortion clinics, will receive an honorary degree tomorrow from UWO.
Protesters hope as many as 1,000 people will demonstrate against him
and UWO.
Chill created Catholics for Life after a Florida court in March
followed the wishes of Schiavo's husband over the objection of her
parents, ordering the removal of a feeding tube that had kept her alive
for 15 years while she was in a persistent vegetative state.
Chill's website was created with the help of a London-area evangelical
Christian, William VanDoodewaard, who went on to create a protest
website for those objecting to Morgentaler's degree.
Abortion is an "intrinsic evil," Chill told The Free Press this week.
London's Catholic hierarchy has responded with words but little action,
said Chill, who agreed with the protest website's contention that local
Catholic leaders had placed the pursuit of money and prestige above
biblical teachings.
"It seems that ordinary Catholics have been left out of the equation,"
she said.
Her message has made its way south of the border, where she contacted a
Mass-achusetts woman who like her runs a Catholic website.
"We're very concerned about similar things . . . we're definitely
starting to create an international network," Carol McKinley said
yesterday.
In the U.S., Catholics have pressured Catholic schools which invite
people whose actions are antithetical to their faith, a position some
UWO protesters have taken against its Catholic affiliate, King's
University College.
"We're watching them. We're right on them," McKinley said.
McKinley is one of many Americans who have signed an online petition on
VanDoodewaard's UWO protest site.
"It's a disgrace. It's insulting," she said of UWO's decision to honour
Morgentaler.

Mary and Joseph had no children?
The Roman Empire is a myth?

And ye turned him into an IDOL which forbidden by God's law.

Ye, who?

And his fucking name would not have been Jesus Bar-Joseph, since ye

What else would they have called him, then, smartass?
In Jesus' day he woulda been known as Jesus Bar-Joseph.
Why was Joseph required to be taxed then if it wasn't his son?
Give me a break and realize what reality is about.
Will you want to destroy everything that is a law and regulation once you
start purporting that Jesus was indeed the Son of the Living God and that
makes you halt all taxation?
Think about it.
Jesus, born of woman, Son of David, etc. Where do you get all this stuff
that makes you think He is a myth?
If you can't tax Jesus legally, then you can't tax me or any other man that
was born of woman.

Try Yeshua Ben-God!

Ok.
But, what's the difference?

IDIOT!

Me, or you?
You been tallking to Caiphus' descendants lately?
Oh, yeah, is your father Abraham, or is his name more like John or James.
Or does he go by Jimmy?

What kind of "heathen"???
hea·then Listen: [ hn ]
n. pl. hea·thens or heathen
1.. a. One who adheres to the religion of a people or nation that does
not acknowledge the God of Judaism, Christianity, or Islam. b. Such
persons considered as a group; the unconverted.
2.. a. One who is regarded as irreligious, uncivilized, or
unenlightened. b. Such persons considered as a group.
So, explain how I am a "heathen" when I believe in the G-d of Avraham
and Sara, and Jewish?
And the language is the Irish dialect of ENGLISH, perhaps you yanks are
not familiar with it!
Your ignorance, bigotry and anti-Semitism, noted, now *****.

Riain that one thing most Arabs like you share in common with us Jews,
we don't condone Idolatry in any way, shape or form. So Riain, why did
you leave Islam for Christianity? Don't you look at Christianity as a
form of Idolatry since Christianity makes Jesus Christ into a God and
condones the abrogation of the Mitzvoth of the Torah.

NO we were tolerant before the holocaust -- after having 6 million of us
murdered and then on one hand have everyone tell us to get the ***** out
of their country or not allow us into their country and then we take
back our own country and now the same bigoted fuckers are telling us to
get out of our country that it is not ours!!!
Why should I be tolerant of a religion that wants me dead and their
fictitious hell???
A religion that needs to proselytise has some major flaws.

LOL

As long as they were not orange biscuits!

Might as well have been. <sigh>
It just amazes me that the RCC seems to have forgotten that they were
once just as persecuted as they have persecuted atheists, gays,
lesbians, etc.
And I just read this week that in pre-colonial Maryland in the USA,
Catholics were not allowed to marry.
Quite ironic that the Catholic Action League in MA is trying to get
same-sex marriage revoked in that state.

OOps! Sorry. It sounds like a law that would have been part of the
Massachusetts colony. At that time the Puritans dominated the colony and
they had much hate for Catholicism, so much so that they even left the
Church of England. Thus sought refuge in the Netherlands, then in
America.

Maryland was started as a Catholic haven, but, very early in its
history, it was taken over by Protestants (ironically a group that had
been granted refuge by the Catholics), who immediately did all they
could to suppress the Catholics.

Heck, there was a law on the books (never carried out) that said Jews were
to be put to death!
