Georgia Senate Approves Bible Class In Public Schools
http://www.wsbtv.com/news/6713665/detail.html
Public high school students could take an elective Bible class,
under a bill approved today by the Georgia Senate.
The bill, authored by Senate Democrats and amended by
Republicans, authorizes school boards to offer elective
courses that teach about the Bible's historical influence
on literature, art, culture and politics.
Republican Senator Preston Smith of Rome said,
"The U.S. Supreme Court says you can't use the classroom as
a pulpit, but that doesn't mean schools shouldn't discuss
major literary texts that also happen to be religious."
Maggie Garrett of the Georgia American Civil Liberties Union
said that even though the bill insists on a non-devotional
approach, teachers could still use such classes to proselytize.
She said, "Even if the bill is written to have all the
magic words from the Supreme Court, when it's implemented
in the classroom it could still be unconstitutional.

This is clearly a violation of separation of chuch and state.
The class should include the study of Qaran, Eddas, Upanishads,
Battlefield Earth(for Scientologists) and so on.

Teaching the Bible in public school will introduce children of
Christians for the first time to the Bible; I suspect this will
innoculate those children from ever believing in Christianity or the
Bible.

Well, I'm all for _other_ people's children being fed occult
superstitious, uneducated blather. It means that my own children
will get the good, high-paying jobs and the religious cultists
will get to scrub their toilets and such.
The problem is that when these religious kooks don't acquire an
education, the people who do have to financally carry them.

I for one am glad to see that Georgia has enacted the "Civil Rights

they MAY NOT; saying they CANNOT is absurd.

We need to lobby for Koran, Book of The Subgenius, and Kabballah
classes as well!
Just think! Area SubG's could walk into any school, whip out the BoTS
(as well as Rev-X) and teach the "Words of "Bob""(TM)
And they also extend it to Voodoo classes!
Teach the bastards how to make VooDoo dolls of they Bible Class
Teachers!
Extra Credit if they can make the Bible Teachers Dance the Electric
Slide While Signing "My Wallet Belongs to "Bob""
