Fred,
I usually ignore you, but i have to point out your asshattery here:
Indymedia (Indy-as-in-independant media) is a socialist/anarchist
anti-bush pro-multiculturalism group that pushes THE EXACT SAME AGENDA
THAT YOU TOUT.
THEY CAN'T STAND CHRISTIAN IMPERIALISM OR ISLAMISM
They're opposed to tyranny and media hegemony.
You didn't even look at their website.
Fucker.
You make me want to hang out with nu-monet.

Um, no, IndyMedia allows anyone to post there, including right-wing
Nazi Christian groups who frequently post news items. It's neither
"left" nor "right." It's equally open to anyone to post news or
events of activities that take place in their local cities.

It's leftist as hell...
So leftist, in fact, that they're open to other opinions than their
own.(open source media alows universal freedom of press)
btw there's a difference between Islamist and Muslim.
many of the people on the list of signatories are Muslim.
It's like christains signing a petition against hard line evangelical
fundamentalist christianity.
They're trying to support reasonableness.

How can you say that when _thousands_ of Bush defending rightards
post articles and events to the IndyMedia web sites? Right this
very minute you can bring up la.indymedia.org and find Republican
race hate articles calling for the defense of white supremacists
in Costa Mesa who are being picketed, protested, and boycotted by
real American patriots.

I understand that what they say is bothersome to you, but your attitude
wins you no supporters. And your term righttards is overly
reductionist. The terms left and right mean almost nothing at this
point in time, (particularly with democrats trying to loosen government
powers, and republicans increasing government spending).
Do you think that words are so powerful that everyone who dissagrees
with you should be silenced?
Or are you incapable of defusing their arguments without name-calling
and invective?
Fred, Seriously.
I know as well as you do that the world is fuul of horrifying things.
Many of them are an affront to all that is good and decent about
humanity. Rape, murder, abuse, theft, starvation, disease...we all know
these things are happening.
Reposting articles about political shennanagens on the usenet is not a
constructive use of your time or ours.
Chill

Seriously.
I appreciate your passion, but I think you need to reassess your
methodlogy.

Repeating a mistaken notion doesn't make it true -- more so when
you can bring up any IndyMedia web site and have your mistaken
notions debunked.

Then they're liberal. The left tends to be even less keen on freedom
of speech than the right. They just dislike different speech.

It's still a "reprint" of an article published here:

And signed mostly by Muslims opposing radical fundamentalists...
