Church Arson Was A Dumb Joke. So is Religion |
Apparently there were no religious motivations for the church fires in
Alabama. It was just some college "pranksters". Too bad. Ideally, if
every atheist went out and burned a church today then religious dickweeds
would have no place to meet this weekend. Unfortunately, most churches
probably have insurance, so they will end up being rebuilt. I suppose we
could continue burning them down, but theists will probably put up tents
if they have to. It would be better to not give them the opportunity to
cash in their policies. It would probably be better to consider the same
tactics that anti-abortionists try, like going into the building and
injecting long lasting, foul smelling substances butyric acid into
crevasses, walls and ceiling panels with a syringe.

I am not sure I buy the "no religious motivations" story. Kids from a
Methodist school burning Baptist churches? Then they burn some more
Baptist churches to throw off the police? Seems like if they wanted
to throw off the police they would have burned a Methodist church.

I would think a more rational strategy would be to burn black churches. Of
course the real lesson to be learned is to have a second set of tires for
your vehicle when committing criminal acts.

It think it's a combination of anti-authoritarian and anti-religious
sentiment, along with the influence of alcohol on spoiled rich kids.
