Now obviously there are a certain number of judges who place serving the
law, doing their job properly, above serving political affiliations or
appoining Presidents other wise we would be in bigger trouble then we
already are. just as obvious is the fact there are soem who place the
policital aboive serving the law.

maybe Nixon, Ford and Carter.

The significance of this data is dubious without further data, in
particular the judges' party affiliation at the time of appointment and
now. A prima facie reading of the data also ignores the often quoted
truism that no one has ever moved to the right once they were seated.
There is at least some truth in it if Souter and Stephens (and Blackmun)
on SCOTUS are any indication. It would also presume that all presidents
appoint only judges of their own party.

Are you naive or simply disingenuous? It was posted as if it were
significant. This suggests the intent of the poster was that people take
it as significant of something prima facie. I merely suggested what it
suggested might not be factual or even significant.
It is factual public information.
Never said it wasn't.
However, you are working very hard to try and downplay any potential
meaning it may have.
No, I'm suggesting that people look beneath the surface of incomplete
data and question whether it means what it seems to mean, in this case
that the judiciary is loaded with Republican stooges. I doubt it was the
poster's intent to provide this data for no reason, and I think it's
safe to assume that it wasn't merely to suggest that which ever party
held the presidency more during some extended period would be likely to
have appointed a larger number of judges than the party that didn't.
It has more meaning then you are willing to acknowledge.
It has what ever meaning it has on its face. Significance is any
entirely different matter. A distinction that seems lost on you.
As I said earlier in a reply to you, you don't have much credibility with
me, sorry about that but that is a fact as well.
I've never sought your trust. I doubt I would find it useful. Nor do I
expect that I could convince you of anything. My impression of you, and
many of the posters around here, is that you are all incapable of
trusting anyone outside your tribe. There is a different between trust
and agreement. That distinction is also lost on you, I'm afraid.
I don't question your credibility on the data you supply. I do question
your power of discernment. I also question the intellectual honesty of
argument by shear tonnage. It is not really necessary to understand the
all that is known about thermodynamics for one to expect ice to melt at
room temperature. I suggest you post less volume, but post more pithy.
have a nice day
I'll assume that's sincere and return the compliment.

Of all the people that might read this newsgroup, might have seen this
thread since I originally posted it, only you got your button pushed
enough that you felt you had to reply and reply in the way you did.
Your reply is very much in line with the other few replies I have read of
yours,. lost interest in and moved on from.
:|
:|>
:|> It is factual public information.
:|
:|Never said it wasn't.
Can't ikeep your story straight,. huh?
Above you saud
:| I merely suggested what it
:|suggested might not be factual or even significant.
Then the very next thing is saying something opposite
It didn't suggest anything. It was facts that anyone can look up if they
wanted to take the time and make the effort.
Any added "meaning or interpretation" comes from you
:|> However, you are working very hard to try and downplay any potential
:|> meaning it may have.
:|
:|No,
Yes.
:| I'm suggesting that people look beneath the surface of incomplete
:|data
There is no surface, and it was complete as it was presented. The only
error was in my counting, since the totals are a bit different, which I
acknowledged. The differences aren't that significant that I felt a need
to go back and count it all over again. The data is all there and anyone
can count it if they want, probably if one did they would find where I made
my mistake.
:\and question whether it means what it seems to mean, in this case
:|that the judiciary is loaded with Republican stooges.
WOW!!!!!!!!! you sure do read a lot into that which was posted.
Actually, you seem to have forgotten, this:
Now, in counting just Rep and Dem Circuit by Circuit the numbers were
different so obviously I goofed somewhere, but over all you can see the
point being made here
Appointed by Dems 99 off by 4 from the 95 counting by Prez.
Appointed by Reps 148 off by 10 from the 158 counting by Prez
Now obviously there are a certain number of judges who place serving the
law, doing their job properly, above serving political affiliations or
appointing Presidents other wise we would be in bigger trouble then we
already are. just as obvious is the fact there are some who place the
political above serving the law.
G W Bush probably will have a chance, over the next 3 years to appoint
replacements for at least some of judges appointed by Kennedy, Johnson,
maybe Nixon, Ford and Carter.
The 9th Circuit Has the biggest difference with Dems ahead by 6
The 2nd Circuit only has a one Rep appointed judge difference
The 6th & 8th Circuit has the biggest difference with Reps ahead by 10
All other circuits has Rep appointed judges outnumbering Dems by 3 to 7
judges.
Now, I don't see the word Stooges used by anyone other than you. I didn't
say it hint it or imply it.
I even said this
Now obviously there are a certain number of judges who place serving the
law, doing their job properly, above serving political affiliations or
appointing Presidents other wise we would be in bigger trouble then we
already are. just as obvious is the fact there are some who place the
political above serving the law.
if you think the above in false, you are out to lunch.
You have interpreted what I posted through your own biases, filters,
beliefs etc
Then you project it onto me.
Take a few deep breaths calm yourself, maybe reason will return to you, in
time.
:\I doubt it was the
:|poster's intent to provide this data for no reason,
Gee, I post things all the time for information things that cover the
entire spectrum of my interest, history, law in the realm of church state
in this country.
I frequently post on a daily basis, often times, news stories from across
the spectrum, more times than not totally without any personal comment one
way or the other. Often times hadn't even read the story but I posted it
for anyone who might be interested.
:|and I think it's
:|safe to assume that it wasn't merely to suggest that which ever party
:|held the presidency more during some extended period would be likely to
:|have appointed a larger number of judges than the party that didn't.
Thai is exactly what it was showing.
You know, you get all this crap about liberals controlling the courts, etc.
You get this ***** from Strickland and others about the 9th Circuit, being
the most liberal of them all, as if that really means much of anything.
What actually triggered this particular bit of research on my part was to
see just how the make up of the various circuts courts really was since no
one ever actually provided such information when they brought up this or
that that they liked to post. Also provide data anyone could use, data that
anyone could reference.
That and the 6th Circuit Judge who stated in lisTen Commandments ruling
that church state separation isn't in the Constitution. I was curious what
the make up of the 6th Circuit was since I am from Ohio which is part of
the 6th Circuit.
I know that will be opinion will be offered, inaccurately, as proof by
the theocrats for ages to come just as Holy Trinity is offered,
inaccurately, by them to say that the USSC said this is a Christian
Nation.
So I was curious, as to the make up of the Circuit courts in this nation.
I spent the time to research it and presented it.
I shared my findings with those who cared to read them.
People can use it in any manner they want.
Your jumping in projecting your own bull onto me just shows one more reason
why to me you have no credibility.
You are coming across rather silly and foolish.

.. . . You can't understand a phrase such as "Congress shall make no law
respecting an establishment of religion" by syllogistic reasoning. Words
take their meaning from social as well as textual contexts, which is why "a
