dares to explore the frightening terra incognita of existence otherwise
known as reality, where life is not black and white and every problem
doesn't get solved after two hours of heroic struggle and sappy
melodrama.

The article in the link said no such thing, that Republicans are protesting
the movie. It's not in there. The article mentioned a couple of the
far-right fruitcakes as being critical, but that was all. I saw the movie,
and I liked it, but it isn't my favorite Eastwood film. I just saw MYSTIC
RIVER a few days ago, and it was very fine movie. I didn't see BLOODWORK,
and I assume by the way you dismissed some of the finest films he's ever
done with ridiculous name mutilations makes me think I should put it on the
list of must-see films. You look like an idiot talking about them the way
you did. A completely TASTELESS moron. UNFORGIVEN was one of the best
westerns I'd ever seen. I bought it twice on DVD; when the Special Edition
came out, I had to have that. As for your overall comments, I can't see how
you can compare his earlier films to his current output. He's got quite an
impressive list of good films now. Your inability to appreciate his more
thoughtful films clearly marks you as a simpleton.

Well, HIGH PLAINS DRIFTER was almost thirty years ago, and I still love that
movie. Really, all of his recent stuff is going to be remembered for a very
long time. Clint Eastwood is an awesome individual in my book. He took a
unique formula, milked it for what he could, then used his craft to express
his own artistic and personal growth. He's always been a very unique
individual. I've always admired him, but now even more so.
