Coincidence? |

HMM: There's this: "Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton said that if she became
president, the federal government would take a more active role in the
economy to address what she called the excesses of the market and of the
Bush administration."
And there's this: "The stock market was in meltdown today as nearly
£60billion was wiped off London shares as fears of a US recession sparked a
global sell-off."
Coincidence, I'm sure.
UPDATE: "They'll turn us all into beggars 'cause they're easier to please."

Somebody obviously hasn't been paying attention to what's been going on in
the US economy. There is a recession looming, resulting from a recent
mortgage crisis involving the widespread granting of mortgages to people
who could not pay them back. Several lenders and banks began to experience
financial difficulties following a higher rate of foreclosures than had
been predicted.
The subprime crisis predates Mrs. Clinton's speech by several months, and
her speech did nothing to improve or worsen the situation.

Well if it predated Hill's speech, it must be Bill's fault. There
can't possibly be anything wrong in BushCo Utopia.

As much as I want to blame Bush Jr. for this crisis, it isn't really his
fault; he is just handling it like a moron. This is just an echo of the
deregulation of banking during the 1980s, which led to a similar crisis and
ultimately a recession 20 years ago. The problem then, and now, is the
lack of action. The credit crisis starting looming several years ago, and
more should have been done sooner to avert a crisis.
Oh well, not much can be done now, except to sit back and watch that stock
ticker scroll red symbols by.
