Colorado Congressman Threatens To Nuke Mecca |
Congressman Threatens Islamic Holy Sites
Mon Jul 18, 8:25 AM ET
DENVER - A Colorado congressman told a radio show host that the U.S.
could "take out" Islamic holy sites if Muslim fundamentalist terrorists
attacked the country with nuclear weapons.
Rep. Tom Tancredo made his remarks Friday on WFLA-AM in Orlando, Fla.
His spokesman stressed he was only speaking hypothetically.
Talk show host Pat Campbell asked the Littleton Republican how the
country should respond if terrorists struck several U.S. cities with
nuclear weapons.
"Well, what if you said something like - if this happens in the
United States, and we determine that it is the result of extremist,
fundamentalist Muslims, you know, you could take out their holy sites,"
Tancredo answered.
"You're talking about bombing Mecca," Campbell said.
"Yeah," Tancredo responded.
The congressman later said he was "just throwing out some ideas" and
that an "ultimate threat" might have to be met with an "ultimate
response."
Spokesman Will Adams said Sunday the four-term congressman doesn't
support threatening holy Islamic sites but that Tancredo was grappling
with the hypothetical situation of a terrorist strike deadlier than the
Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
"We have an enemy with no uniform, no state, who looks like you and me
and only emerges right before an attack. How do we go after someone
like that?" Adams said.
"What is near and dear to them? They're willing to sacrifice everything
in this world for the next one. What is the pressure point that would
deter them from their murderous impulses?" he said.
Tancredo is known in the House for his tough stand on immigration and
had a 100 percent rating last year from the American Conservative Union
his votes and positions on issues.
Mohammad Noorzai, coordinator of the Colorado Muslim Council and a
native of Afghanistan, said Tancredo's remarks were radical and
unrepresentative but that people in Tancredo's position need to watch
their words when it comes to sacred religious sites and texts.

Mon Jul 18, 8:25 AM ET
DENVER - A Colorado congressman told a radio show host that the U.S.

But what if the attack was a 'peacetime bomb attack' by 'misguided
criminals'.

Seriously they do say that they love death so why do we have to wait for
them to commit yet another act of terrorism. Can't we just kill them now
and open up a part of the world for colonisation. Everyone would win if
this happened, they get death, we get control of more resources and with no
Islam the 'Know' in 'Know Islam Know Terror' would become a 'No'.
I suppose I should add that the opinions expressed in the post may or may
not represent my views of what should happen in response to yet another in
the never ending series of Islamic terrorist attacks.

Hmmm, we fought a war a few decades back against people who had those kind
of ideas. You may remember them, they were lead by that Hitler fellow.

Jerusalem in a city full of places considered too be Holy
for Christians and Muslims, as well as for Jews.
How about just a half dozen H.E. rockets against the
wailing wall. Or better still a big cratering bomb
dropped on the nueclear reactor of the University
of Tel Aviv, and leae religion out of it?

Nobody named Moishe spells Jew with a small "J". You've done it twice, so I
know you're not Jewish. What's your real name? Abu? Yaser? C'mon.....we know
you love camels, sand, lambs and young boys.
Wanna take a little test to prove the point?
Put whatever name you're using at the bottom of this sentence:
"I denounce Islam as a false religion of violent fanatics, and its prophet,
Mohammed, who was a woman-hating fraud."
If you're really a Muslim, you won't do it because you know that God will punish
you for rejecting your faith and you will burn in the hottest flames of Hell for
eternity. OTOH, you won't have any problem with it and would probably want to
add a few embellishments of your own if you're a nice Jewish boy named Moishe.
Now, will you go away and stop bothering us?

Works for me. Mazimizing the kill rate is something THEY could hardly

It wouldn't be necessary or desirable to kill people. A 72 hour
warning to allow the city to be evacuated before its destruction as
demonstration of what is possible might be enough caffein. Even an
explosion that is nearby might do the trick.
On the other hand the extremist muslims, like others that are part of
the Abrahamaic religions believe in destruction of thr world followed
by judgement by God/Allah.
They might respond with a presidential "Bring it on"
Looks like we are back to MAD.

MAD worked because there were two sides and both sides were
semi-rational. That isn't true any more -- there are more
than two sides, and many of the parties are influenced by
fundamentalist crazies.

Once those with their fingers on the buttons don't care whether they live or

those virgins reserved in heaven-- it gets scary indeed.

No, we are not back to MAD. MAD worked because both sides valued life and
property. The extremist Muslims do not. As a retired submariner who's life
and career was built around preventing stupid people from doing stupid
things, I really think a tactical nuke at the right time and place may be in
order. I think also that we should be using our special forces (and
invisible forces) to indentify and surgically cutoff the 'head' of this
awful infliction... and I wholeheartedly believe we could do such a thing...
IF we wanted to.

Congressman Threatens Islamic Holy Sites
It's ABOUT DAMNED TIME!!!!!!!
For you to get a clue apparently. That kind of statement makes as much
sense as claiming that the Vatican should be bombed because the IRA exists.

Yes, I am, when it comes to TERRORISTS.
Otherwise, this Gay Jewish Liberal from Ireland is hardly narrow-minded
or a bigot.

Then why the vulgarisms because I disagree with the moronic idea of
punishing all Muslims for the fallings of some? As a Jew you should know
that attitude is ***** given that Jews have so often been the victims of
it. Innumerable morons have used the Jewish heritage of Karl Marx to
slander all Jews.

There are qualitiative and quantitative differences between the IRA and
Islamic terrorists. I don't think for instance the Vatican ever
sympathised with the IRA.
It does maker sense to bomb Mecca. "Mad Dog" strategies DO work in
some circumstances. I'm not saying there wouldn't be serioous
repercusions to the US on several levels but given the gravity of the
nuclear threat these are ideas that are going to have to be thought
about.
Tancredo himself said he is 'just throwing up ideas'. He's being level
headed about it. Even 'throwing up ideas' is going to have an effect.
It might for instance enervate the millions of muslims who while not
supporting al queda are going to now find that they have something to
loose if they tollerate his activities in their midsts. Fear of death
is cathartic; it forces the spirit to look at things from all sorts of
new contexts. On the other hand it might convince some of the ultimate
evil of the US.

*****. What you're talking about is terrorism, every bit as unjustifiable
as loonies flying jet airliners into the WTC.
