Object: Columbia Invited Him?
The Grand High ***** from Iran got an invite from Columbia.
That's just fucking lovely.
I think we should arrest him and put his scruffy ***** on trial.
Aren't we at war with these zipperheads?
Aren't they part of the "axis of evil"?
Put him on trial and hang him.
Can you imagine Hitler being invited to speak at Columbia in 1943?

The desire to Procreate is Natural and doesn't need Promoting or Rammed

Um ... no, it wasn't. While life was surely better under Mossadegh
than under the Shah, the emergency powers under which Mossadegh
operated did not make for a utopia for dissent. Aside from that, the
unconstitutional national referendum to dissolve parlaiment hardly
respected the rule of law, and the Mossadegh government's claim that
the referendum passed 99.93% 'For', 0.07% 'Against' was, shall we say,
dubious.

until *Washington* conspired to have Iran delivered into the psychotic hands of
the Shah

You mean until London, alarmed by the looming prospect of Mossadegh
nationalizing the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company (later known as British
Petroleum and now as BP) convinced the U.S. that Iran was about to
join the Soviet sphere of influence by producing bogus evidence to
that affect. The British lacked the means to engineer the coup d'etat
themselves, and knew the U.S. would never participate simply to
protect a British company, but they knew that they could play on anti-
communist paranoia to prod Washington to action. The BBC itself
broadcast the code-word that launched the overthrow.

("He may be a sonofabitch, but he's *our* sonofabitch"; etc, etc).
As a result of what the murderous tyrannical Shah did to his population --
over decades, and with Washington's endless support and approval -- Iran
ultimately had an Islamic revolution, whose results we still live with, and

Oh, the irony ...

Is it because you'd be too fucking *embarrassed* to know that *your country

*the whole fucking problem*...??

Actually, two countries are responsible. Those who 'know any history'
understand this.

You pathetic, compliant, rubes. You make the educated world *puke*.

Again, the irony ...
Note that I do not mean to defend my country's participation in
Operation Ajax. It is a lamentable thing, I wish it had never
happened, and I was glad when the Clinton Administration apologized on
behalf of the United States. That hardly sets things right, but then
setting things right simply cannot be done. Those dead at the hands
of the Savak will remain dead, sadly. I have no problem with your
pointing out how the Shah came to power. I myself have done so on may
occasions. The problem is that you are sadly ignorant of how that
occurred.

Actually, a few did raise a protest sign when Ahmadinejad spoke at an Iranian
