Object: Completely OT: Web Builder builder?
Ok, this is completely off topic, but I know there are enough tech-geeks
(is that redundant?) that an answer is likely.
I am in the process of redesigning my business website
(http://www.humanist-celebrant.com). One of the services I would like to
start offering is a way for people to "rent" space from my site to post
their event announcement, schedule, driving instructions, etc. and then
make some of their photos available on-line for a year after the event
itself.
One way I could do this would be to have clients fill out forms and have
me do the coding. Much easier would be to set up a similar kind of "site
builder" offered by ISPs like Yahoo and allow clients to write their own
page, make color and graphical choices, upload pictures up to their
quota, etc. I have some vague ideas on how to write such a tool, but it
would be much easier if I had some info on existing tools.
So, my question: Can anyone recommend a decent book showing how such a
toolset can be made? Any references to code that would be useful? Any
recommendations on shareware/buyware that would implement something like
this?
Thanks for the help.

Have you tried PostNuke? A lot of sites use it.
It's a highly configurable website with a login, articles, members area,
polls, control console, etc... Not sure but it's free and you might like it:

Might not be what you where looking for though
