#Coulter: Thou Shalt Not Pray |
Thou Shalt Not Pray
By Ann Coulter
FrontPageMagazine.com | September 25, 2003
David Limbaugh's new book, "Persecution: How Liberals Are Waging War
Against Christianity," will make you cry for your country. (But don't
pray for your country if you're anywhere near a public school!)
Released this week, Limbaugh's copiously researched book documents how
the courts, the universities, the media, Hollywood and government
institutions react to any mention of Christianity like Superman
recoiling from kryptonite, Dracula from sunlight, or Madonna from soap
and water. His straight, factual narrative of what is happening in our
public schools makes you wonder how much longer America can survive
liberalism.
In a public school in St. Louis, a teacher spotted the suspect,
fourth-grader Raymond Raines, bowing his head in prayer before lunch.
The teacher stormed to Raymond's table, ordered him to stop
immediately and sent him to the principal's office. The principal
informed the young malefactor that praying was not allowed in school.
When Raymond was again caught praying before meals on three separate
occasions, he was segregated from other students, ridiculed in front
of his classmates, and finally sentenced to a week's detention.
Before snack time in her kindergarten class in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.,
little Kayla Broadus held hands with two of her classmates and recited
this prayer: "God is good, God is great, thank you, God, for my food."
The alert teacher pounced on Kayla, severely reprimanded her, and
reported her to the school administration. In short order, the
principal sent a sternly worded letter to Kayla's parents advising
them that Kayla was not allowed to pray in school, aloud or with
others.
The school board then issued a triumphant press release crowing about
its victory over a kindergartner praying before snack time. Thus was
creeping theocracy in Saratoga Springs stopped dead in its tracks!
Kayla's mother brought a lawsuit, winning Kayla the right to pray out
loud. But she was still prohibited from holding hands with others
while she prayed. Hearing the G-word in kindergarten might interfere
with the school's efforts to teach proper sexual techniques in the
first grade.
Thanks to the vigilance of an alert teacher at Lynn Lucas Middle
School outside of Houston, two sisters carrying Bibles were prevented
from bringing their vile material into a classroom. The teacher
stopped the students at the classroom door and marched them to the
principal's office. (Maybe it was just the sight of public school
students carrying a book of any kind that set off alarm bells.) The
sisters' mother was called and warned that the school intended to
report her to Child Protective Services. When the mother arrived, the
teacher threw the Bibles in the wastebasket, shouting, "This is
garbage!"
In another display of tolerance at Lynn Lucas Middle School, school
administrators snatched three students' books with covers displaying
the Ten Commandments, ripped the covers off, threw them in the
garbage, and told the students that the Ten Commandments constituted
"hate speech." (Also, it would be insensitive to expose the Ten
Commandments to students who had never been taught to count to 10.)
After the massacre at Columbine High School, students and families
were invited to paint tiles above student lockers. The school district
had taken all reasonable precautions, immediately deploying an army of
secular "grief counselors" with teddy bears to descend on the school
after the attack. Nonetheless, some students painted their tiles with
"objectionable" messages, such as: "4/20/99: Jesus Wept" and "God Is
Love." This would not stand: The school removed 90 tiles with
offending religious messages.
A federal court upheld the school's censorship of the religious tiles.
Of course, Columbine school officials had earned a measure of
deference after having inculcated such a fine sense of morality in
their students that two boys could walk into school one day and stage
a bloody massacre. You don't argue with a track record like that.
Not all mentions of religion constitute "hate speech." In Tupelo,
Miss., school administrators methodically purged all Christmas carols
of any religious content – and then led the children in a chant of:
"Celebrate Kwanzaa!" At Pattison Elementary school in Katy, Texas,
Christmas songs are banned, but students are threatened with grade
reductions for refusing to sing songs celebrating other religious
faiths.
In New York City, the chancellor of the Department of Education
prohibited the display of Nativity scenes in public schools, while
expressly allowing the Jewish menorah and the Islamic star and
crescent to be displayed. Some would say that was overkill inasmuch as
New York City is already the home of the world's largest public
display built in commemoration of Islam: Ground Zero.
Between issuing laws prohibiting discrimination against transgendered
individuals and running up a $38 billion deficit, the California
Legislature mandated a three-week immersion course in Islam for all
seventh-graders. A "crash course" in Islam, you might call it, if that
weren't so ironic. Students are required to adopt Muslim names, plan a
trip to Mecca, play a jihad game, pray to "Allah, the Compassionate"
and to chant "Praise to Allah! Lord of Creation!" They are encouraged
to dress in Muslim garb. Students are discouraged, however, from
stoning girls at the school dances, abusing their "Jew" math teachers
or blowing up their classmates.
A popular student textbook, "Across the Centuries," treats the
Inquisition and Salem witch-hunts as typical of Christianity, but
never gets around to mentioning the Muslims' conquest of Spain, the
Battle of Tours, or the execution of Jews in Qurayza. Or 9-11.
There is no surer proof of Christ's divinity than that he is still so
hated some 2,000 years after his death. Limbaugh's "Persecution"
covers it all in staggering, heartbreaking detail. His methodical
description of what is happening in our public schools alone will call
to mind the hate speech banned in Columbine: "Jesus Wept."

Except that this doesn't seem to be the case at all. According to
Superintendent David Mahan, the boy "was disciplined for some matters that
were totally independent of silent praying. We did a very thorough
investigation. We talked to teachers, administrators, and also to some
students, and we could not find any evidence of the allegations that the
parent and the student made."
School officials are banned from elaborating further on the boys punishment
further because of laws protecting his privacy - but it seems clear that he
was not reprimanded for praying.
http://www.holysmoke.org/hs00/gingrich.htm

little Kayla Broadus held hands with two of her classmates and recited
this prayer: "God is good, God is great, thank you, God, for my food."
The alert teacher pounced on Kayla, severely reprimanded her, and
reported her to the school administration.
<....>
Kayla's mother brought a lawsuit, winning Kayla the right to pray out
loud. But she was still prohibited from holding hands with others
while she prayed.
A teacher overstepped her bounds, and things ballooned out of control. I
agree that it can happen, but the law isn't on the side of the teacher. As
you can see, the judge made the right decision, and I think that even most
liberals will agree with that.
Thanks to the vigilance of an alert teacher at Lynn Lucas Middle
School outside of Houston, two sisters carrying Bibles were prevented
from bringing their vile material into a classroom. The teacher
stopped the students at the classroom door and marched them to the

teacher threw the Bibles in the wastebasket, shouting, "This is
garbage!"
If this actually did happen, then it was the action of this teacher (Sara
Flottman) acting on her own. And if that's the case, then she did a pretty
good job of covering for herself as well. Judy Thornson, communications
officer for the Willis Independent School District, said the following: "The
district has investigated the allegations and determined that they are
untrue."
The law specifically allows students to cary religious material to school,
and the school board has not instituted any policy against it. If you
maintain that this case actually happened, then it was Sara Flottman that
acted alone, without any backing that would indicate a creeping religious
intolerance in the school system.
http://www.youthbuilt.com/main/2PA_ReligiousRights.htm
In another display of tolerance at Lynn Lucas Middle School, school
administrators snatched three students' books with covers displaying
the Ten Commandments, ripped the covers off, threw them in the
garbage, and told the students that the Ten Commandments constituted
"hate speech." (Also, it would be insensitive to expose the Ten
Commandments to students who had never been taught to count to 10.)
Judy Thornson's comments I mentioned above also cover this incident - there
is no evidence that either incident actually happened. And, like I said, if
it did happen, then it wasn't backed by the school itself.
After the massacre at Columbine High School, students and families
were invited to paint tiles above student lockers.
<...>
A federal court upheld the school's censorship of the religious tiles.
This is a more complex legal issue than it would seem at first glance.
First time around the federal court ordered the school to put the tiles
back, and I personally think they should have left it at that. Seems to me,
though, that somebody at the school wanted to be a tightass ***** and
refused to comply, then found a loophole in the law that allowed him to have
his way. It looks like there's still controversy over this, but one thing
we can say about it is that it's not a clear-cut case of some big liberal
policy against Christianity.
Not all mentions of religion constitute "hate speech." In Tupelo,
Miss., school administrators methodically purged all Christmas carols
of any religious content - and then led the children in a chant of:
"Celebrate Kwanzaa!" At Pattison Elementary school in Katy, Texas,
Christmas songs are banned, but students are threatened with grade
reductions for refusing to sing songs celebrating other religious
faiths.
This appears to be an urban legend. I couldn't find any article relating to
this incident on the Internet, so I called up Pattison Elementary and asked
them outright. They assured me that they do not ban Christmas songs. The
small kernel of truth in that accusation may lie in one thing that the
secretary was quick to explain. She told me that they were very careful not
to sing Christmas songs *exclusively*, so they may very well inded have told
students to chant "Celebrate Kwanzaa!" or something of the like, but they
would not have forbidden students from singing their favourite Christmas
carols.
In New York City, the chancellor of the Department of Education
prohibited the display of Nativity scenes in public schools, while
expressly allowing the Jewish menorah and the Islamic star and
crescent to be displayed.
Finding information about this subject seems to be very difficult. Some
sources seem to indicate that the issue is over a policy that religious
symbols cannot be shown *on their own* - if that's the case then the schools
aren't allowed to show a nativity scene by itself, but if it was surrounded
by symbols from other religions in an attempt to show diversity then it
would be allowed.
Other sources seem to claim that the policy is that schools are not allowd
to display *any* religious symbols, but are allowe to display secular
symbols of the season including Christmas trees, the Islamic Star, and the
Jewish Menorah. If that's the case then it seems to be a matter of a
mis-definition, since it's obvious that neither the Islamic Star nor the
Jewish Menora can be considered secular.
I'm not sure where the truth lies on this subject, most of the sources I can
find are from Christian-backed websites. If I could get the other side of
the story it would really help, or if I could even find this story in a
major newspaper (because some indipendant verification would be useful). If
anybody has more information I'd love to hear it.
Some would say that was overkill inasmuch as
New York City is already the home of the world's largest public
display built in commemoration of Islam: Ground Zero.
That kind of tastless comment is *not* called for.
Some background information on Islam is taught in public schools, but no
student is required to perform any of the tasks mentioned in this paragraph.
http://www.snopes.com/religion/islam.htm
A popular student textbook, "Across the Centuries," treats the
Inquisition and Salem witch-hunts as typical of Christianity, but
never gets around to mentioning the Muslims' conquest of Spain, the
Battle of Tours, or the execution of Jews in Qurayza. Or 9-11.
Having not read this book, there is no way that I can comment - however, it
should be noted that no history book can cover every single event in
history, and just because it doesn't mention those events doesn't mean that
it's author(s) are denying that they happened or belittling them in any way.
The question that needs to be asked is "What is the scope of the textbook?"
If it's a history of religious prosecutions, then there's no excuse for it
to leave out the events mentioned. If, on the other hand, the book is only
meant to convey European history, then it's perfectly logical for it toleav
out such items.
I'd also question as to whether this book actually states that events such
of the Inquisition were "typical of Christianity" - I have serious doubts as
to whether that's the case.
Jesus never approved of lies and distorting the truth.

Unfortunately, the book is in some box somewhere in this sea of unpacked
boxes...
One comment right off, though; the snopes article at
http://www.snopes.com/religion/islam.htm is off when they say:
"We think the Byron School District erred badly on the side of liberalism
in how it chose to teach this segment and that it displayed an appalling
lack of sensitivity to the fears that even more will be drawn to the
fundamentalist Islamic faiths that spawned the terrorist attacks on
America if Islam is made attractive enough, but that's a judgement call,
not a matter of fact. What can be argued is whether the line separating
teaching about a religion and teaching the religion itself was blurred by
how the district chose to fulfill the Islamic history element of the Grade
7 social studies curriculum. Whether that line was actually crossed
remains a matter of debate (the district is not at this time addressing
charges that it had students memorize Koran verses), but it must be said
if the shoe were on the other foot -- had the portions of world history
centering on the spread of Christianity been taught in similar manner --
the outcry would have been thunderous."
That's wrong. In *fact, the book spends far, FAR more time on European
history and christianity because, after all, that's the biggest part of
*our history. What sends the fundies into orbit is that there is a unit on
Islam that doesn't *trash Islam.
That is to say they WERE taught in "similar manner" or, actually,
christianity gets MORE coverage.
What gets even nuttier about this is that--as is typical of these kinds of
stories--the tale grows with the telling. The actual, original complaint
was quite... well... whiny. The woman was mad because, for example, one of
the things the students were asked to do (in the book, whether this was
used by any teacher or not across such a huge state, who knows) was to
"imagine" themselves living in that time and place and write a short story
about life.
Like a billion, billion other boring old jr. high assignments. Big
whoopee. I see that over time, the story has grown to include "chanting"
and "praying" and "wearing robes" and other such silliness.
Yeah, sure. All over the biggest state of the union, every single school
has been turned into terrorist training camps and nobody but the WND
noticed.
<eye roll>
Ah, here we go, one of my posts at the time this carp was being alleged:
http://www.google.com/groups?selm=pan.2002.01.13.20.41.46.564959.1985%40yahoo.com&oe=UTF-8&output=gplain
Here's a big chunk of the post where I was tearing the story as reported
to shreds (with the content guide and text on my desk):
-----------------------
Further, the ANS reporting about the text "Across the Centuries" is simply
one lie after another. To wit:
"Islam is presented broadly in a completely positive manner."
The book discusses factions, schisms, discrimination (in what was a
generally rather tolerant society), conquests, etc.
"...whereas the limited references to Christianity..."
How limited is three chapters covering European history, shot through with
discussions of the church, and two lessons I can see here in chapter 13
including one on the reformation and Martin Luther? Two chapters on Europe
from 1600-1789 with discussions of the church. Not to mention frequent
refernces to Judaism and Christianity all through the two chapters on
Islam.
And then:
"[Christianity] is shown in a negative light with events such as the
Inquisition, and the Salem witch hunts highlighted in bold, black type."
"Inquisition" is mentioned once and talk about DISHONESTY in this alleged
reporting. Know why it's in "bold, black type?" It's a VOCABULARY word.
Meaning, words in "bold, black type" are new words being introduced and
concepts that are tested on. Included in this horrible highlighting are
such things are "Counter Reformation," "predestination," "Protestants,"
"Reformation," "pamphlets," and so on.
Can't find any reference to the Salem witch trials in the chapters
covering the period nor anything in the index.
Finally, the other shoe drops:
"...the portrayal of Islam leaves out word of 'the wars, massacres,
cruelties against Christians and other non-Muslims that Islam has
consistently perpetrated over the centuries.'"
And there it is. The charge is being leveled that the schools are not
INDOCTRINATING the kids to HATE Muslims and Islam.
Which is, I assert, what is actually going on here. Pure, unadulterated
DEMONIZING. Typical of the religious reich.
(By the way, just found a bible quote in the text where Luther is being
discussed. Another example of how the ANS is LYING.)
Adding this all up, I think the ANS story isn't just inaccurate, I think
it's deliberately deceptive. They are knowingly creating fabrications.
They have the SAME text I have but do everything from distort to just lie.

You're just trolling. As is Limbaugh. I note that neither he

has been overturned by the courts. EVERY ONE.
Why? Because the courts have been clear on this since the days

Never stop trying to what? At least five of those stories seem to to have
been completely fabricated by the people who made the claim. 2 of the rest
make reference to issues that it's so hard to find information on that one
wonders how much of an issue they could have been in the first place. That
leaves only 2 that make reference to real events or issues, and they've been
taken out of proportion.
It seems that it's the people like Ann Coulter who are the wones that "never

It seems that it's the people like Ann Coulter who are the wones that
"never
stop trying" to use lies to make it look like liberals are "Waging War
Against Christianity"
I actually said "wones"???? Forgive my misspelling, must have hit the W key
by accident.

Don't you just love the way the Christers lie with impunity, making up
*actual events* knowing fully well that the bleaters with believe their lies
and deception without question. Like a tropical plant without water...they
cannot exist without lying.
Another typical pinhead Hate-Theist response.
You're just trolling.
Not at all. I never troll. It's my opinion.
As is Limbaugh. I note that neither he
nor Coulter point out that EVERY SINGLE EXAMPLE cited, when challenged,
has been overturned by the courts. EVERY ONE.
Even if true, it's still interesting that the anti-religionists never
stop TRYING.
You're full of *****. In ten of THOUSANDS of schools, there are
bound to be incidents in which teachers and/or administrators make
mistakes or are just flat ignorant of where the legal lines are. Yet the
people who want us to believe there's some big "oppression" going on can't
find but a handful of cases of actual violations. Out of TENS OF THOUSANDS
of schools.
You're talking a percentage so small, it'd hardly register...

Even if true, it's still interesting that the anti-religionists never
stop TRYING.
Why? Because the courts have been clear on this since the days
of O'Hare: children have an absolute right to freedom of expression,
including religious expression, so long as that expression does not
interfere with class time.
Baloney. The courts have muddied the waters and the Hate-Theists never
give up trying to eliminate religion from the schools entirely.
Thanks for the laugh.
You mean of course, the mormons, methodists, catholics and jehova's
witnesses who have sued to eliminate unwanted religious practices from
the public schools their children attend. The only case I'm aware of
brought by an atheist was the O-haire case.
Then there's this article on prayer in schools:
Hoaxes Are Religious
Right Cottage Industry
By John Young, Cox News Service
Tacoma News-Tribune
August 24, 1995
WACO, Texas -- There are alligators in the sewers. And down there you
also might find Ashley Pollack's lunch boxes. And if you happen to see
Ashley, tell her some school officials would love to meet her.
In recent months Ashley and the Millcreek Township school district in
suburban Erie, Pennsylvania, were held up as an example of how public
schools trample on religious freedoms.
The story, passed on by syndicated columnist Cal Thomas, was that the
fourth grader had purchased and given to two classmates new lunch boxes
with the note "God loves you in Christ." The story goes that the girl
was reprimanded by her teacher, told, according to Thomas, "she must not
write or even speak about religion in school."
It would be an abomination if true. The true abomination is that it's a lie.
A district spokesperson, interviewed by phone, said Ashley Pollack
doesn't exist. Or, if real, Ashley never attended Millcreek schools.
Then in Texas there was 5-year-old Shannon. According to the 1992 story
passed on by Pat Robertson's "700 Club," she'd been told by her teachers
in Kingsville she couldn't say grace over her meal.
One technical problem with that story. Shannon didn't exist. Or if she
existed, she didn't attend Kingsville schools. But Kingsville, and all
other public schools, took a mighty airwave thrashing.
Concocted incidents purporting to demonstrate how public schools "crush"
religious liberties could fill up volumes. Let's commission Paul
Dickson. His book, There Are Alligators in Our Sewers, takes on
widespread urban myths. He'd have a field day with what the Religious
Right passes on as Gospel.
The Rev. James Watkins of the Old South Church of Christ in Kirtland,
Ohio, could write the book. He chases down stories in which students
allegedly have been denied the right to pray. His assessment: lies,
lies, and damned lies.
The Religious Right sprays hoaxes like mushrooms disseminate spores.
Then the hoaxes bear their fruit in cover of night.
"When asked by informed investigators," writes Watkins in a recent
commentary, those with the wild assertions "are unable to produce one
bona fide instance of a student's right to pray being violated by a
public school official anywhere."
Advocacy groups like the Rutherford Institute exist to take flimsy
allegations to court. Even if frivolous, the suits will still harvest
some ink, prestige, and financial backing.
In St. Louis, with the involvement of the Rutherford Institute, the
Waring School is being sued by a former student who asserts he was
punished for praying over his lunch. School officials say plain old
misbehavior, not prayer, is the issue. The plaintiff said he has
witnesses, but hasn't produced them.
Back in Texas the author of two new laws which made "legal" what was
already legal -- silent, voluntary school prayer and silent moments that
don't solicit prayer -- gladly perpetuates the hoax-making.
A press release from the office of state Rep. Al Edwards, D-Houston,
proclaims "Prayer is back in our public schools." (Silent, voluntary
prayer was never out of our schools.) It also reads, "A number of people
have been reprimanded, suspended and even fired because of their beliefs
and participation relating to prayer in public schools."
When asked on the phone to enumerate, Edwards could cite only one
example: Waco teacher Linda Thrasher, fired after repeated warnings for
clearly and zealously promoting her religion in class. In point of fact,
Rep. Edwards, Thrasher's firing was her own choice. She said she had to
abide by God's rules, not those of the school board.
And so the hoaxers go merrily on their way. They make public schools the
bad guys, anti-God and anti-good, for making the tough calls that come
with accommodating a nation of many faiths.

Great post! Thank you. The very thought of mini-skirted Coulter suddenly
taking a holy dunk in the river and proclaiming herself aligned with the
"saved," is downright funny. I doubt if there's any group as intellectually
dishonest, as morally bankrupt, and as grotesquely unablanced as our own
neo-cons. May they glory in their lies for the amusement of all!

Thou Shalt Not Pray
By Ann Coulter
FrontPageMagazine.com | September 25, 2003
David Limbaugh's new book, "Persecution: How Liberals Are Waging War
Against Christianity,"
What about liberal Christians?
will make you cry for your country. (But don't
pray for your country if you're anywhere near a public school!)
What a lie. Individual prayer has never been disallowed in public schools.
What is not allowed is the school leading prayer, or advocating either
religion or atheism.
Before snack time in her kindergarten class in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.,
little Kayla Broadus held hands with two of her classmates and recited
this prayer: "God is good, God is great, thank you, God, for my food."
Another blatant lie. The author can't even get the prayer right. The prayer
goes as follows:
"god is great and god is good/ And we thank him for this food;/ By his grace
we all are fed;/ Give us, lord, our daily bread."
The alert teacher pounced on Kayla, severely reprimanded her, and
reported her to the school administration. In short order, the
principal sent a sternly worded letter to Kayla's parents advising
them that Kayla was not allowed to pray in school, aloud or with
others.
*****, again. Individual prayer IS allowed in public schools.
How many lies can you find in the above statement? "Proper sexual techniques
in the first grade"? This statement alone is a dead giveaway!
Thanks to the vigilance of an alert teacher at Lynn Lucas Middle
School outside of Houston, two sisters carrying Bibles were prevented
from bringing their vile material into a classroom.
Another lie. I went to school in one of the most liberal school districts in
the coutnry: the Berkeley Unified School District. One of the classes
offered there was "The Bible as Literature". I took it. The school even
provided KJV Bibles for those students who did not have their own KJV
version.
The teacher
stopped the students at the classroom door and marched them to the
principal's office.
The Ten Commandments constitute "hate speech"? Even the most liberal atheist
would not make such a statement.
Can this screed be any more transparent?
After the massacre at Columbine High School, students and families
were invited to paint tiles above student lockers. The school district
had taken all reasonable precautions, immediately deploying an army of
secular "grief counselors" with teddy bears to descend on the school
after the attack. Nonetheless, some students painted their tiles with
"objectionable" messages, such as: "4/20/99: Jesus Wept" and "God Is
Love." This would not stand: The school removed 90 tiles with
offending religious messages.
This is the only thing that makes sense here. Allowing religious tiles above
lockers would be school advocacy of religion, not indivudual religious
expression.
A federal court upheld the school's censorship of the religious tiles.
Of course, Columbine school officials had earned a measure of
deference after having inculcated such a fine sense of morality in
their students that two boys could walk into school one day and stage
a bloody massacre. You don't argue with a track record like that.
Not all mentions of religion constitute "hate speech." In Tupelo,
Miss.,
....birthplace of Elvis Presley...
school administrators methodically purged all Christmas carols
of any religious content
As they should - the school may not advocate religion. Therefore, "Jingle
Bells" is acceptable, but not "Silent Night". Or any Jewish, Muslim or
Buddhist song promoting religion, and no atheist song would be allowed
either.
- and then led the children in a chant of:
"Celebrate Kwanzaa!"
Kwanzaa is not a religious holiday.
At Pattison Elementary school in Katy, Texas,
Christmas songs are banned, but students are threatened with grade
reductions for refusing to sing songs celebrating other religious
faiths.
I challenge you to name the songs that celebrated other religious faiths. No
such songs are allowable.
In New York City, the chancellor of the Department of Education
prohibited the display of Nativity scenes in public schools, while
expressly allowing the Jewish menorah and the Islamic star and
crescent to be displayed.
None should be allowed.
Some would say that was overkill inasmuch as
New York City is already the home of the world's largest public
display built in commemoration of Islam: Ground Zero.
Eh? Explain.
Between issuing laws prohibiting discrimination against transgendered
individuals
....which is a good thing...
and running up a $38 billion deficit,
....which is the fault of Enron and other greedy energy companies, as well as
Bush's tax cuts...
the California
Legislature mandated a three-week immersion course in Islam for all
seventh-graders. A "crash course" in Islam, you might call it, if that
weren't so ironic. Students are required to adopt Muslim names, plan a
trip to Mecca, play a jihad game, pray to "Allah, the Compassionate"
and to chant "Praise to Allah! Lord of Creation!" They are encouraged
to dress in Muslim garb. Students are discouraged, however, from
stoning girls at the school dances, abusing their "Jew" math teachers
or blowing up their classmates.
This is another lie. No such mandate was made. There was a school that
misinterpreted the difference between "teaching religion" (which is not
allowable) and "teaching about religion" (which is perfectly OK), but they
quickly saw the error of their ways after
A popular student textbook, "Across the Centuries," treats the
Inquisition and Salem witch-hunts as typical of Christianity,
They were...
but
never gets around to mentioning the Muslims' conquest of Spain, the
Battle of Tours, or the execution of Jews in Qurayza.
A good texpbook would mention these, particularly the Battle of Tours.
Or 9-11.
That event was a bit too recent to appear in school history books, don'tch
think?
There is no surer proof of Christ's divinity than that he is still so
hated some 2,000 years after his death.
BWAHAHHAAHHAHAHAAHHAHAHA! Count the fallacies in THAT argument!!
Limbaugh's "Persecution"
covers it all in staggering, heartbreaking detail. His methodical
description of what is happening in our public schools alone will call
to mind the hate speech banned in Columbine: "Jesus Wept."
It doesn't surprise me that a guy named "Limbaugh" is lying through his
teeth.

Ann Coulter is so ignorant of reality she thinks it's the winter solstice!
"It's The Winter Solstice, Charlie Brown!" http://www.anncoulter.org/
[Clue: September 23 was the autumnal equinox. The winter solstice is on
December 22.]

Thou Shalt Not Pray

Not only are the extreme right wing conservative blatantly linked to
extreme, right wing christians;
it is becoming more and more obvious that they are both commonly linked with
extreme insanity!
David Limbaugh's new book, "Persecution: How Liberals Are Waging War

I cry for my country every time some right wing BULL *****, like this, is

Of course, Reich wing fanatics, like Coulter, will eat this up.

"conspiracy"!
