Cowardly Republicans Who Won't Vote For or Against Anti-Lynching Apology & Won't Say Who They Are |
http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/print?id=845713
I bet the ones who voted for the apology wouldn't be afraid
to say who they are. That's one way of outing the cowards.
I wonder what all those black churches whose members
voted for Republicans are thinking now. This should be
brought out in public before the election next year. These
people are being used, and they should be made aware of it.

So tell us, why wasn't Robert Byrd a featured speaker?
It wasn't Republicans who filibustered anti-lynching laws.

They're thinking, "Who do these Democrats think they're fooling?"
This should be
brought out in public before the election next year. These
people are being used, and they should be made aware of it.
Oh, spare us, it's the Democrats who are using the Blacks, pandering
with this phony "apology" after having filibustered anti-lynching
legislation for decades.

Voting for it not good for you then?

No, but those racist Democrats who did 40+ years ago either
joined the Republican party (welcomed with open arms, I might
add) after the Democrats embraced civil rights or repudiated
their previous views (like Bird). Your party is the party of
bigots now.

Not when he's the "defender of the filibuster".
It wasn't Republicans who filibustered anti-lynching laws.

What do you mean, "or". If Robert "Sheets" Byrd can repudiate his views,
why can't any Republican?
Your party is the party of
bigots now.
Nonsense. The Democrats are still the party of racial preferences. It's
obvious when you look at the way they react to Black conservatives who
get ahead in the Republican party.

It's telling how often conservatives mention *race* when we criticize a
black conservative's *politics.*
And don't bother trying to find cites of liberals calling Powell or
Rice or Thomas "Uncle Tom" or worse. I know it's probably happened. But
*every time* a black conservative is criticized, you guys bring up his
or her race. Such fake indignance doesn't become you.

That's because you tie your criticism to their race yourselves.

Rice or Thomas "Uncle Tom" or worse. I know it's probably happened.
You bet it's happened. Every time a black conservative gets ahead, they
get the racial epithets thrown at them, or they get accused of betraying
their race just by being Republican.
Some liberals on alt.atheism will *defend* their use of racial epithets
like "Uncle Tom" and worse.
But *every time* a black conservative is criticized, you guys bring up

You have that backwards. In this very thread, Michelle brought up how
Republicans are racists and how they're "using" Black Republicans.
Howlin' Howard Dean brings up race when he calls Republicans the "White
Christian party". It's not Republicans who repeat that lie about how the
Dixiecrats all changed parties after the *REPUBLICANS* pushed through
the civil rights laws *OVER DEMOCRATS FILIBUSTERS*.

What a strange little world you live in. Try a little reality
sometime, it might even give you the character you lack.
