I have the lousiest news-server. It sends through my posts 1/4 of the time
(or less). Trying again...
I wanted to pass this one along.

No need for me to pray for Paul Johnson, his struggle and pain is over. I
seriously want to know why it has to be innocent people who help Iraqi's
out, that have to be captured, and then get their heads sawed off.

I don't get it. If god can't fix what's happening, what's the point of

even

putting faith in god to sort this ***** out? I say, F**k god. He's just a
figurative leader, made up because Churches wanted control over people.

There'll be no end until we realise that Religions are something that
shouldn't be a part of anyone's life. We all live once, and we should all
live it up as best we can. All religion does is restrict you.

My deepest sympathy goes to Paul Johnson, Nick Berg and Kim Sun-il. I hope
this never happens again, and if it does, make it your word that God is
never going to help us.

Subject: God(TM) is a terrorist
As a Deist, I believe in God, and have to wonder why he doesn't use his
power to make things peaceful NOW.
The Hell with an afterlife.. we need help in this world right here, right
now -- the world needs peace. Why doesn't God fix things? (Now... not
later... is he a beaurocrat tied behind red tape... is God that powerless?)
That Bible answers nothing... in fact, it helps to provoke a lot of the
hate, bigotry and intolerance in the world, with the things we see going on.
The Bible helped to inspire the Koran to be written -- a book, which these
terrorist base their "Holy War" on.
Why doesn't God answer himself to mankind, instead of hiding behind books
that nobody seems to be able to agree on any way.
What kind of God is it?
At least Atheists aren't TORMENTED with these kind of questions.
I THEN WROTE:
Fundamentalists will probably read my question and the first thing popping
in their mind, is *prophecy* of the end time... the book of Revelation.
*God* is just like terrorists -- trying to win the *cause of the day* with a
threat of doom, destruction and damnation.
GOD IS A TERRORIST.
Why couldn't God prophecy he'd bring peace on earth without
tormenting/maiming and destroying and murdering -- and turning the infidel
to ash -- now that's a miracle worth writing about. There is no need to
wonder where the extremists get their world view -- from these Holy books...
destroying anyone who believes differently. )
God(TM) is such a successful concept because he appeals to the most basic,
the lowliest emotions in higher animals. Here's some : Fear. Anger. Hate.
Prejudice. Bigotry. Intolerance.

Which is the essence of religion. Humans are tribal in nature. This
behavior has a lot of selection advantages. The individual is protected
by those that share the individual's hut, meal, god, etc.
The other side of the coin is that it engenders mistrust, hate, fear of
anyone outside the group. The level of mistrust, etc. increases as you
pass through each onionlike tribal layer (metaphors were never my
strong suit).
The same can be said for nationalism (and localism). I'm true to my school
and I'll take the Buffalo Bills over the hated Patriots any day, but I'll
likely
side with that twit from Bahston over any furriner. Unfortunately, the model
breaks down when it comes to Dolphin fans.

They have fans? :}
Still, any true American football fan has two favorite teams: the Bills and
whoever is playing the Dolphins that week...
