Creationism Loses Again. |
Oops, this study shows that lots of cross species genetic material can be
exchanged via host-virus infection, and it takes place over the course of
hours, not millennia. This is bad news for creationists who ridiculously
maintain that evolution is too slow to account for the diversity of life.
Host-virus interaction and selection is part of the evolutionary process
and it is fast enough to observe in the laboratory. In short,
creationism loses again.

"It is fashionable to wax apocalyptic about the
threat to humanity posed by the AIDS virus, 'mad cow'
disease, and many others, but I think a case can be
made that faith is one of the world's great evils,
comparable to the smallpox virus but harder to
eradicate." -- Richard Dawkins

Creationism can't lose because it's utterly void of "facts." It depends
entirely on beliefs which are nothing more than opinion. When facts
enter into the equation and the creationist's argument falls apart he
falls back to arguing his "belief in god" and the debate ends. It's futile.
It's like trying to tell a Republican that we've never had any money in
the Treasury to pay for tax cuts. He doesn't want to hear the facts, he
wants politicians and right wing blow hards to tell him it's ok to be
irresponsible.
