Object: Creationist clock
Ya know, it's like a creationist would look at a clock and say the hands
were created in that position.
When someone shows them photos of the hands in other positions, they demand
intermediate photos to prove the hands moved to those positions, and when
intermediate photos are found, they want intermediates of those.
When you point out that the hands have moved in just the last few minutes,
they'll say sure, the big hand moved, but the little hand didn't, and never
will.

I took some books back to the library today, and had to go up to the second
floor which is mainly museum and took time out to have a quick look around
then noticed a display of skulls, tools and artefacts tracing the evolution
of man from around the time of Homo Heidelbergensis to the present day.
Comparing this exhibit with artefacts that gullible x-tian's have been sold
through the ages*, shown in a recent TV prog. I came to the conclusion that
these long dead hominids, displayed chronologically in their museum cases
accompanied by the appropriate technology from their era; somehow managed to
describe a more credible picture of the past than living x-tians do today
with their heavily censored and bastardised version of facts cynically
plagiarised from scientist that have worked hard during the past century to
discover.
*X-tian artefacts/relics included:
Clay from the garden of Eden
Wood from the cross / last supper table
holy 'cure all' water
various body parts from 'saints' thumbs and fingers are much liked.
Thorns from the crown of thorn
ect; ad nauseum.
Hopefully one day x-tianity will be by a museum a museum artefact also.

Put yourself in the position finding out that the world is now suddenly
about 6000 years old and that tried an tested methods of scientific dating,
while admittedly not exact seem to have disappeared, the Turin shroud might
now once again show the imprint of the face of Christ rather than the
artwork of a medieval forger.
Changes of this sort are being brought about religious groups who rather
than worship there own god in peace have metamorphosed into political
pressure groups. THEN you might feel persecuted.
A tradition of over 2000 years of persecution during a 2000 year old
lifetime is not really a good recommendation for any organization. Would
another 100 years indicate learning difficulties ;)

Ya know, it's like a creationist would look at a clock and say the hands
were created in that position.

When someone shows them photos of the hands in other positions, they
demand
intermediate photos to prove the hands moved to those positions, and when
intermediate photos are found, they want intermediates of those.

When you point out that the hands have moved in just the last few minutes,
they'll say sure, the big hand moved, but the little hand didn't, and
never
will.

It took you how long to come up with one??????????

One what?

It'll take you how long to come up with an effective rebuttal?
