cross in public school |
While dropping my child off at his public school recently, I noticed a
small cross had been placed inside and above the front doors. When I
asked an administrator about it, he said (rather irritated), "It's
perfectly legal" and walked away. Does anyone know what the law says
about this type of symbol in a public school, or of any specific court
cases I can cite when I take this to the school board?

It's perfectly ILLEGAL.

I'd have told him that you'll be reporting it to the ACLU and other
groups and he'll see just how illegal it is. He cannot have any
religious symbols on public display on school grounds, period.
Unfortunately, most public schools don't care, it isn't their money
and if they waste it on meaningless court cases, who cares?
