Dad Says His Son 'Damaged' by Homosexual Indoctrination at State-Sponsored Program |
Substitute the word "Christian" for the word "homosexual" and you best
believe that Ted Kennedy and his cohorts at the ACLU would be screaming
bloody murder from the rooftops. The Governor's School of North Carolina has
alot of explaining to do.

Dad Says His Son 'Damaged' by Homosexual Indoctrination at State-Sponsored
Program
(AgapePress) - Two Christian parents say their son was a victim of
homosexual indoctrination at the prestigious "Governor's School of North
Carolina."
The Governor's School of North Carolina describes itself as "program for
intellectually gifted high school students, integrating academic
disciplines, the arts, and unique courses." But one North Carolina couple is
suffering some after effects of their son's involvement in the program. Jim
and Beverly Burrows say after their son attended a Governor's School seminar
called "The New Gay Teenager," he began telling them he was unsure of his
"sexual orientation."
The parents believe the seminar was intentionally scheduled as the last
optional one before classes ended in order to leave a strong, lasting
impression on the students and bypass any parental notification about the
seminar.
Jim Burrows says he noticed a big difference in his otherwise normal son
upon his return from the school.
"He [said he] was thinking now that he perhaps was gay -- and of course I
was floored by this [pronouncement] and was, like, 'where did this come
from?' This kind of came out of left field," the dad says. After questioning
his son for an extended period, Burrows says he discovered the source. "I
found out that this was as a result of this seminar."
According to Burrows, his son was instructed by two openly homosexual staff
members of the Governor's School to question his sexuality as well as Bible
passages that condemn homosexuality. And the students were also encouraged
by instructors to start a Gay Straight Alliance club at their schools, he
says.
The North Carolina dad explains that his son's subsequent struggle with
homosexuality has turned his family upside down. "As far as our family is
concerned, the damage has already been done," he laments. "There's no way
that we can go back and undo what has been done."
Still, Mr. Burrows feels he needs to warn other parents of the homosexual
indoctrination his son encountered at the Governor's School. "[I]f I can
keep one other family from having to go through this, then all this trouble
has been worthwhile," he says.

Err dude, Ted Kennedy is a senator and the ACLU is a non-government
organization.

[I edited it slightly to remove the parents' last name]
You mean some Christian parents find out that they might have a gay
son, something that happens all the time, and it is somehow somebody
else's fault????
Most likely, all that happened after the seminar is that the kid
felt he could talk about his feelings

In News ev6dnbHAEqx2hm3eRVn-tw@giganews.com,, J Young at
youngopinions@aol.com, typed this:
"He [said he] was thinking now that he perhaps was gay -- and of

did this come from?' This kind of came out of left field,"
I'd be willing to bet that the dad barely paid attention to the kid at all
until he said he might be gay.

Oh I expect the story is accurate. It just doesn't really say much,
representing one anecdote. Basically the old man is shocked that a
school might be encouraging students to think about things he has
closed his mind to, that the school is actually suggesting tolerance
and understanding toward those who do not mindlessly conform to his
line of "thinking," and that some of the staff are gay. Classical
bigotry.
Just because the church indoctrinates people does not mean the schools
are doing so just by presenting a seminar. He believes they should
instead by indoctrinated into xtian bigotry, and that knowledge is
dangerous and should be eschewed. I wonder why he sent his kid to a
gifted school if he doesn't want them exposed to new ideas, or to
learn how to think for themselves. I think the kid is a likely few
dozen times smarter than his old man.
I liked the part about "questioning him for an extended period." It's
little things like this that let the cat out of the bag. I wonder if
he used thumbscrews or other quaint xtian interrogation techniques.
