Object: Dangerous times
It would appear that the fundamentalist Catholic 'sect' Opus Dei is in a
position to gain control of the RCC. Take a few Catholics, overdose them on
fundamentalism, put them in charge of a the entire Roman Catholic populace
and you have a volatile recipe for disaster. And you thought WWII was bad?
Wait until these fundies attack the Muslims. There will be no end of the
death and destruction until all are dead.
On the plus side maybe this would be the end of religion as we know it.
People would shun it like a bad case of smallpox.
I wonder where it might be a good place to hide until it all blows over?
Germany? Switzerland? Gibraltar?

It brings up the question of JP2's relationship with Opus Dei. Was he
a member or not? If he was then he did everything a papal member of
the sect would have done, personal prelature, canonised its' founder,
made a couple OD members cardinals. If JP2 was not a member then he
was an admirer.

Evidence thus far says he was not a member but there are a few obvios
things.
1) JPII was an easily lead puppet of sorts. I think that Opus Dei had him
in their pocket so to speak and would do whatever they wanted.
2) JPII was a staunch conservative and the OD philosopy matched his quite
well.
3) Watching JPII was like watching Ronald Reagan the last two years of his
term. RR had Alzheimers and it was quite evident. JPII had it too but
they made him keep his mouth shut so it wasn't as apparent.
I think the following website provides additional info that is most
interesting.
http://www.rickross.com/reference/opus/opus50.html
While I think the chances of a war coming out of the RCC is slim, it is a
non zero possibilty too. Low double digits right now is where i would
guess the risk is at.
Some idiot will will likely say something like "you aren't qualified to
comment on the situation", which is just another method of denying
another's right of free speech. I am perfectly qualified and actually over
qualified than the average catholic. I spent time studying to be a RC
priest in a seminary. There aren't too many catholics that can say that.

I did not know this. Where can I find out more?

That Alzheimers allegaton is mine based on observation and the opinion of
health care professionals. Watch some video of JPII and compare to Ronnie
Reagan in his last year as president. Quite similar. Both kind of spaced
out. Someone is very close nearby. In JPII's case they kept that person
just out of the camera frame much of the time. There is other evidence but
ask anyone in health care that is familiar with age related dementia. I
talked to a few nurses about JPII and they agreed he had some sort of
dementia. Not 100% certain it was Alzheimers, but it sure seems that way.
Google around and see what you can find. I can't be the only one on the
net to have noticed it.
There is another possibility which is that I, and the nurses I talked to
are wrong. Right now I don't think we are.
The bottom line is that the OD sect has manipulated the press, the
cardinals, and the pope to put themselves into a position to take over the
RCC. Their dream could come true. If a liberal gets in as pope, then
their plans are dead and they drop back into relative obscurity. If a
ultra conservative becomes pope they will multiply like roaches.

A liberal pope is unlikely. Of the 3 electing cardinals who were not
made by JP2 Jamie Sin has now said he will not be going to Rome to
take part in the conclave because of illness. So that makes a conclave
of 116 including the 2 others JP2 did not make.

Thanks for the info. The next few days will be most interesting. I wonder
if an OD cardinal will be the next 'papa'.

Is there a transcript available somewhere? A synopsis might be sufficient.

Basically the radical Jewish population (about 20-30% of population)
want a Jewish-only theocracy. The most radical of them want to use
terrorist tactics to attack Arabs and destroy the two Islamic mosques
that now occupy the area where the ancient Jewish temple once stood.

Well, that certainly will solve everything. Blow it up. The way I feel
right now is that someone should put up a 30 foot high wall around the
place and fill it with radioactive waste. By the time the radiation has
decayed to where it is safe to go back in, everyone will have forgotten
about it.
