Daniel 9: 4-10. 3-5-2007. |
Gabriel And The Seventy Weeks.
I prayed to the Lord, my God, and confessed, "Ah, Lord, great and
awesome God, you who keep your merciful covenant toward those who love
you and observe your commandments! We have sinned, been wicked and
done evil; we have rebelled and departed from your commandments and
your laws. We have not obeyed your servants the prophets, who spoke
in your name to our kings, our princes, our fathers, and all the
people of the land. Justice, O Lord, is on your side; we are
shamefaced even to this day: the men of Judah, the residents of
Jerusalem, and all Israel, near and far, in all the countries to which
you have scattered them because of their treachery towards you. O
Lord, we are shamefaced, like our kings, our princes, and our fathers,
for having sinned against you. But yours, O Lord, our God, are
compassion and forgiveness! Yet we rebelled against you and paid no
heed to your command, O Lord, our God, to live by the law you gave us
through your servants the prophets.

< shite snipped >
70 weeks? You theists can't even agree on how long a day is genesis during
the Earth building phase in the beginning of the spiteful & jealous one's
reign of misery. So how long is this mythical 70 weeks?

A vocals group? I'll bet they were big in biblical times.
I prayed to the Lord, my God, and confessed, ...
Yeah, that was a popular tune in old testament times: O lord, we
are scum. Why do you put up with us?
Of course, it didn't get much better in the new testament: O lord,
we are scum. But who cares! We got Jeeeeeezus!

One fine day in alt.atheism, Josef Balluch <josef.balluch@sympatico.can>

Why? Is Donny Osmond too busy these days? :-)
Seriously, I'm doing my job as a Roman Catholic, spreading the gospel

Ah yes, the old spreading the word thing. If you really had anything to say
that was really worth hearing, don't you think that us sinners, etc would
seek you out & not the other way around? Why do all religions persist with
the notion that they have the one true message & if they could only get it
out, we'd all be saved (or whatever excuse it is these days). The JW's are
the worst. I suggest that this spreading of the "good news" is merely an
attempt to subvert the minds of those who frankly can't be arsed with the
god myth. You'd be far better served not to waste your time.

It's one of their most arrogant and stupid attributes. They imagine
everybody else has to hear the word. But they aren't equipped to think
outside the box and discuss it with anybody who doesn't already
believe.
They put themselves in the other guy's personal space as soon as they
open their mouths - and insist on definingg the terms of discussion.

What really is a pisser is when these silly bastards get me out of bed at 9
in the morning, just a couple of hours after going to bed from a night
shift. Perhaps I should wake the buggers up at 3 in the morning to extol the
virtues of atheism - let's see how they like it.
