Object: Darwin Day in Austin
ACA will be celebrating the birthday of Charles Darwin on February 12th
at the Austin Zoo; a great place to celebrate the diversity and
relatedness of all life. For more information see the "Feb 12 is
Darwin Day" paragraph on ACA's web site at
http://atheist-community.org

I hope whomever goes has fun and all, but I do have to wonder: why
should Darwin Day be a particularly atheist celebration?

... why should Darwin Day be a particularly atheist celebration?

It's not. The Atheist Community of Austin meets for all sorts of
social events, most without any special reason at all (bakery
breakfasts, monthly pot lucks, weekly happy hours etc.), and every now
and again it's fun to come up with an actual reason, in this case
Darwin's birthday, which gives a good theme (zoo trip) and is a great
opportunity to help remind people of what the theory of evolution really
states. Not that one event will counter all the lies and
misrepresentations of the anti-education theocratic crowd, but it will
still be fun.

Well, I will be a monkey's uncle...er..whoops, I'm it's nephew!
I live relatively close to Austin. Any good looking 30-50 ladies
ladies going to be there? I am referring to homo sapiens of course.
Don't mess around with cousins anymore. Got enough of that in East
Texas...hey, I was young and the pickin's were slim. If you didn't date
your cousins you often didn't date.

Isn't the rule in West Texas that if you date someone as far removed
as a cousin you're dating outside your species?

You have to understand West Texas, Robin. For someone in our neck of
the woods, think of Mammy Yokum country, or the Beverly Hillbillies.
Now go down 10 steps. You're not even close yet, but at least you're
heading in the right direction. Buddy Holly is the exception that
