Darwinism and Atheism Made Holocaust Possible |
The Holocaust: Why Did It Happen?
by Wayne Jackson
http://www.christiancourier.com/archives/holocaustWhy.htm
Civilized men lament the Holocaust (1933-45) as one of the darkest eras
of modern history. There is, however, almost a conspiracy of historical
silence - few journalists care to reflect upon just why Hitler and his
associates perpetrated that infamous evil.
On April 22, 1993, the Holocaust Memorial Museum was dedicated in
Washington, D.C. The museum is supposed to be a reminder of the 6
million Jews (and others) who were exterminated at the behest of Adolf
Hitler and his Nazi henchmen during World War II.
Civilized men lament the Holocaust (1933-45) as one of the darkest eras
of modern history. There is, however, almost a conspiracy of historical
silence - few journalists care to reflect upon just why Hitler and
his associates perpetrated that infamous evil.
What was the motive that fired the lunacy of the Fuhrer's (the word
means "leader") ambitions? The grim truth is, there is a direct
connection between the Holocaust and the teachings of Charles Darwin
and his dogma of biological evolution.
In 1859, Charles Darwin published his revolutionary book, The Origin of
Species. Actually, the full title of the work is, The Origin of Species
by Means of Natural Selection: or, The Preservation Of Favored Races In
The Struggle For Life. In this book, the author contended that higher
levels of biological existence are attained as the strong eliminate the
weak in the struggle for survival.
Subsequently, Darwin produced yet another work, The Descent of Man
(1871), in which he wrote even more explicitly:
"With savages, the weak in body or mind are soon eliminated; and
those that survive commonly exhibit a vigourous state of health. We
civilized men, on the other hand, do our utmost to check the process of
elimination; we build asylums for the imbecile, the maimed, and the
sick; we institute poor-laws; and our medical men exert their utmost
skill to save the life of every one to the last moment. There is reason
to believe that vaccination has preserved thousands, who from a weak
constitution would formerly have succumbed to small-pox. Thus the weak
members of civilized societies propagate their kind. No one who has
attended to the breeding of domestic animals will doubt that this must
be highly injurious to the race of man" (Darwin, 1872, p. 130, emp.
added).
Darwin's influence was tremendous and his ideas were applied to many
areas of life. One of his admirers was Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900),
a German philosopher. Nietzsche took the famous naturalist's
reasoning to what he felt was its logical conclusion - he longed to
see the development of a "super-race," and he felt that such could
only be achieved by the extinction of inferior races and individuals.
Nietzsche was a vigorous opponent of Christian morality, which he knew
fostered support for the weak. One historian has written that
Nietzsche's cardinal idea was "the notion that natural selection
should be permitted to operate unhindered in the case of human beings
as it does with plants and animals."
However, he believed that "before any such process of natural
selection could operate, religious obstacles would have to be removed.
Nietzsche therefore demanded that the moral supremacy of Christianity
and Judaism should be overthrown" (Burns, 1963, p. 809). He argued
that the preservation of sick and suffering people contributed to the
deterioration of the race (Flewelling, 1946, p. 423).
In 1888, the German philosopher lapsed into a state of complete
insanity, which continued until his death in 1900. Had his views been
practically applied to him, he would have been eliminated at that
point.
His ideas did not die with him. Nietzsche's views, coupled with the
earlier notions of Johann Fichte (1762-1814) - who argued that the
Germans were a superior race destined to assume leadership of the
civilized world - provided the philosophical basis for Hitler's
policy which was implemented in the Holocaust.
Adolf Hitler was born in 1889. His childhood was an unhappy one, and
early-on, he was undisciplined and rebellious. Hitler fought in the
German army during World War I (1914-1918), and was twice decorated. In
1920, he joined the German Workers' party which eventually evolved
into the Nazi party.
Adolf Hitler was a skillful manipulator of men and he gradually began
to gain power. In 1923, he attempted to incite a revolution. The
rebellion was foiled and he was sentenced to five years in prison.
While there, Hitler began the composition of his famous book Mein Kampf
(My Struggle). In this wretched volume, the mad ruler set forth his
views regarding the future of Germany.
He believed that the German people were the highest species on earth.
Germans must be kept pure, he argued, so that German children would be
"images of the Lord and not monstrosities halfway between man and
ape" (Jenks, 1979, p. 238). He felt that if the Jews were allowed to
mingle with the superior species, it would render futile "an
evolutionary higher stage of being" (Clark, 1967, p. 115). When
Hitler came into full power in the early 1930's, his beliefs were
politically and militarily set in motion.
A key plan for the implementation of Hitler's policies was the
practice of eugenics. Eugenics has to do with the systematic
elimination of biologically unfit individuals from society. In Mein
Kampf, Hitler declared:
"The mixing of the higher and lower races is clearly against the
intent of nature and involves the extinction of the Aryan race . . .
Where Aryan blood has mixed with that of lower peoples the result has
been the end of the bearers of culture" (quoted in Howard & Rifkin,
1977, p. 72).
Every student of history is familiar with how Hitler attempted to
eliminate the "unfit" from German society. The deformed, the
mentally ill, the Jews, etc. - none of those whom he deemed unworthy
were spared. Again, though, the question is - what ideology was
motivating this madman?
Though one hears precious little about it these days, careful scholars
have not altogether ignored the connection between Hitler's
holocaustic policies and the evolutionary philosophy which the Fuhrer
had adopted. In his monumental work, The Rise and Fall of the Third
Reich, William Shirer asked:
". . . where did Hitler get his ideas? . . . he had somehow absorbed,
as had so many Germans, a weird mixture of the irresponsible,
megalomanical ideas which erupted from German thinkers during the
nineteenth century."
Shirer goes on to mention by name such men as Fichte, Hegel (who
inspired Marx and Lenin), Treitschke, Nietzsche and Richard Wagner, the
composer (1960, p. 97).
Hitler almost idolized Nietzsche. He frequently visited the Nietzsche
museum in Weimar "and publicized his veneration for the philosopher
by posing for photographs of himself staring in rapture at the bust of
the great man" (Shirer, p. 100). It has also been shown that Ernst
Haeckel (1834-1919), an evolutionary biologist contemporary with
Darwin, was the man who introduced evolutionary concepts into German
intellectual life, and thus he significantly helped to shape Hitler's
twisted thinking (Morris, 1989, pp. 72-74).
Sir Arthur Keith was one of Great Britain's leading evolutionary
anthropologists in the mid-1900's. In one of his popular books he
conceded:
"The German Fuhrer, as I have consistently maintained, is an
evolutionist; he has consciously sought to make the practices of
Germany conform to the theory of evolution" (1947, p. 230).
Dr. Robert E.D. Clark has noted:
"Adolf Hitler's mind was captivated by evolutionary teaching -
probably since the time he was a boy. Evolutionary ideas - quite
undisguised - lie at the basis of all that is worst in Mein Kampf -
and in his public speeches" (1967, p. 115).
Dr. Edward Simpson, an evolutionary professor of biology at Purdue
University, while attempting to weaken the association between
Darwinism and the Holocaust, nonetheless confessed:
"I don't claim that Darwin and his theory of evolution brought on
the holocaust; but I cannot deny that the theory of evolution, and the
atheism it engendered, led to the moral climate that made a holocaust
possible" (1983, p. 24B).
In all the media attention that has been given to the Holocaust over
the past several decades, this writer has not seen a solitary line from
the popular press addressing the philosophical foundation upon which
Nazism was based.
Why has no consideration been given to the ideological factors that
spawned the horrible tragedy of the Holocaust? The answer is simple.
Modern journalists are intimidated by or enamored with the Darwinean
hypothesis. They thus refuse to acknowledge the connection between the
seed and the fruit.
But the association is historically undeniable. We might do well to
reflect upon the words of George Santayana: Those who do not remember
the past are condemned to relive it.

EXCERPTS FROM, "ON THE JEWS AND THEIR LIES" by Martin Luther
Introduction
Few Christians realize the extent of Jewish hatred by Martin Luther, the
admired theologian and religious reformer. Luther called for the burning of
synagogues, taking Jews away from their homes, and faulted Christian Germans
for not slaying Jews. Few American Protestants realize that their founder
wrote a book in 1543 titled, "On the Jews and Their Lies." He also wrote
such works like "Against the Sabbatarians." German priests taught Luther's
message in churches throughout Germany up until World War II.
Hitler greatly admired Martin Luther and carried out his anti-Semitic
feeling through the Holocaust. Luther's vehement attack on Jews and his
powerful influence on the believers of the German people has brought a new
hypothesis to mind: that the Holocaust, and indeed, the eliminationist form
of anti-Semitism in Nazi Germany could not have occurred without the
influence from Luther's book "On the Jews and Their Lies." The following
gives a few quotations from Luther's diatribe:
"I had made up my mind to write no more either about the Jews or against
them. But since I learned that these miserable and accursed people do not
cease to lure to themselves even us, that is, the Christians, I have
published this little book, so that I might be found among those who opposed
such poisonous activities of the Jews who warned the Christians to be on
their guard against them. I would not have believed that a Christian could
be duped by the Jews into taking their exile and wretchedness upon himself.
However, the devil is the god of the world, and wherever God's word is
absent he has an easy task, not only with the weak but also with the
strong." May God help us. Amen. Martin Luther (On the Jews and Their Lies)
"He did not call them Abraham's children, but a "brood of vipers" [Matt.
3:7]. Oh, that was too insulting for the noble blood and race of Israel,
and they declared, "He has a demon' [Matt 11:18]. Our Lord also calls them a
"brood of vipers" furthermore in John 8 [:39,44] he states: "If you were
Abraham's children ye would do what Abraham did.... You are of your father
the devil. It was intolerable to them to hear that they were not Abraham's
but the devil's children, nor can they bear to hear this today."
"Therefore the blind Jews are truly stupid fools...Now just behold these
miserable, blind, and senseless people....their blindness and arrogance are
as solid as an iron mountain. Learn from this, dear Christian, what you are
doing if you permit the blind Jews to mislead you. Then the saying will
truly apply, "When a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into the
pit" [cf. Luke 6:39]."
" You cannot learn anything from them except how to misunderstand the divine
commandments...Therefore be on your guard against the Jews, knowing that
wherever they have their synagogues, nothing is found but a den of devils in
which sheer self-glory, conceit, lies, blasphemy, and defaming of God and
men are practiced most maliciously and veheming his eyes on them.
Moreover, they are nothing but thieves and robbers who daily eat no morsel
and wear no thread of clothing which they have not stolen and pilfered from
us by means of their accursed usury. Thus they live from day to day,
together with wife and child, by theft and robbery, as arch-thieves and
robbers, in the most impenitent security."
" However, they have not acquired a perfect mastery of the art of lying;
they lie so clumsily and ineptly that anyone who is just a little observant
can easily detect it."
"But for us Christians they stand as a terrifying example of God's wrath. If
I had to refute all the other articles of the Jewish faith, I should be
obliged to write against them as much and for as long a time as they have
used for inventing their lies-- that is, longer than two thousand
years....Christ and his word can hardly be recognized because of the great
vermin of human ordinances. However, let this suffice for the time being on
their lies against doctrine or faith."
" Did I not tell you earlier that a Jew is such a noble, precious jewel that
God and all the angels dance when he farts? Alas, it cannot be anything but
the terrible wrath of God which permits anyone to sink into such abysmal,
devilish, hellish, insane baseness, envy, and arrogance. If I were to avenge
myself on the devil himself I should be unable to wish him such evil and
misfortune as God's wrath inflicts on the Jews, compelling them to lie and
to blaspheme so monstrously, in violation of their own conscience. Anyway,
they have their reward for constantly giving God the lie. No, one should
toss out these lazy rogues by the seat of their pants....but then eject them
forever from this country. For, as we have heard, God's anger with them is
so intense that gentle mercy will only tend to make them worse and worse,
while sharp mercy will reform them but little. Therefore, in any case, away
with them! Over and above that we let them get rich on our sweat and blood,
while we remain poor and they such the marrow from our bones."
"I brief, dear princes and lords, those of you who have Jews under your
rule-- if my counsel does not please you, find better advice, so that you
and we all can be rid of the unbearable, devilish burden of the Jews, lest
we become guilty sharers before God in the lies, blasphemy, the defamation,
and the curses which the mad Jews indulge in so freely and wantonly against
the person of our Lord Jesus Christ, this dear mother, all Christians, all
authority, and ourselves. Do not grant them protection, safe-conduct, or
communion with us.....With this faithful counsel and warning I wish to
cleanse and exonerate my conscience. Let the government deal with them in
this respect, as I have suggested. But whether the government acts or not,
let everyone at least be guided by his own conscience and form for himself a
definition or image of a Jew."
"However, we must avoid confirming them in their wanton lying, slandering,
cursing, and defaming. Nor dare we make ourselves partners in their devilish
ranting and raving by shielding and protecting them, by giving them food,
drink, and shelter, or by other neighborly acts... Therefore we Christians,
in turn, are obliged not to tolerate their wanton and conscious blasphemy.
Accordingly, it must and dare not be considered a trifling matter but a most
serious one to seek counsel against this and to save our souls from the
Jews, that is, from the devil and from eternal death. My advice, as I said
earlier, is: First, that their synagogues be burned down, and that all who
are able toss sulphur and pitch; it would be good if someone could also
throw in some hellfire...Second, that all their books-- their prayer books,
their Talmudic writings, also the entire Bible-- be taken from them, not
leaving them one leaf, and that these be preserved for those who may be
converted...Third, that they be forbidden on pain of death to praise God, to
give thanks, to pray, and to teach publicly among us and in our country...
Fourth, that they be forbidden to utter the name of God within our hearing.
For we cannot with a good conscience listen to this or tolerate it...He who
hears this name [God] from a Jew must inform the authorities, or else throw
sow dung at him when he sees him and chase him
away."
"But what will happen even if we do burn down the Jews' synagogues and
forbid them publicly to praise God, to pray, to teach, to utter God's name?
They will still keep doing it in secret. If we know that they are doing this
in secret, it is the same as if they were doing it publicly. For our
knowledge of their secret doings and our toleration of them implies that
they are not secret after all and thus our conscience is encumbered with it
before God."
"If we wish to wash our hands of the Jews' blasphemy and not share in their
guilt, we have to part company with them. They must be driven from our
country....they remain our daily murderers and bloodthirsty foes in their
hearts. Their prayers and curses furnish evidence of that, as do the many
stories which relate their torturing of children and all sorts of crimes for
which they have often been burned at the stake or banished....that everyone
would gladly be rid of them. Undoubtedly they do more and viler things than
those which we know and discover."
"If I had power over the Jews, as our princes and cities have, I would deal
severely with their lying mouths. They [rulers] must act like a good
physician who, when gangrene has set in proceeds without mercy to cut, saw,
and burn flesh, veins, bone, and marrow. Such a procedure must also be
followed in this instance. Burn down their synagogues, forbid all that I
enumerated earlier, force them to work, and deal harshly with them, as Moses
did...If this does not help we must drive them out like mad dogs."
"My essay, I hope, will furnish a Christian (who in any case has no desire
to become a Jew) with enough material not only to defend himself against the
blind, venomous Jews, but also to become the foe of the Jews' malice, lying,
and cursing, and to understand not only that their belief is false but that
they are surely possessed by all devils. May Christ, our dear Lord, convert
them mercifully and preserve us steadfastly and immovably in the knowledge
of him, which is eternal life. Amen."

No, atheism is merely the value of a property which asks 'believes in
deities'
it has no positive assertion
also i do not see "interest groups" as religions
this is all beyond you in any case
religious attribute in man is inherent you do not understand this and
immediately make false associations with social and political

Malarky. Ananchy is the hobgoblin of those who want to retain the
status quo. Christianity has always been the bedfellow of power. The
Christians in control were perpetually jealous and vigorously snuffed
their rivals, using heresy or apostacy as the accusations of
convenience. At the same time, Christian theology was almost infinitely
malleable, capable of being hammered into any form that would suit
whatever potentate was looking for spiritual assurance. Hence,
Christians slaughtered Christians with both sides (or all sides) bathed
in divine grace. During the Nazi era, Christian chaplains consoled and
blessed soldiers who murdered Jews and others.

Your ideas are wrong because your facts are wrong. England condoned
slavery in various forms -- as slavery, indentured servitude, penal
servitude, et cetera. The American colonies reflected British law.
Europeans in general saw themselves as spiritually superior to native
inhabitants. The British were less addicted to this worldview than the
Spanish or the Portugese, but they held it nevertheless. Americans, in
turn, were Europeans and adopted the notions of Brits and Germans.
Long before Darwin sailed, however, Britain abolished slavery and, in
fact, began patrolling the seas and apprehending slave ships (except
for those owned by their allies, the Portugese). Slavery persisted in
the United States because the slave states depended on the economics of
slavery. Nevertheless, the United States, which was always divided on
the issue, joined the British in patrolling the seas and apprehending
slavers. We in the United States always knew that slaves were human an
equal, and we were so conflicted by slavery that we could only resolve
the issue with a horrid civil war.
Darwin's theories had nothing to do with any of this. (If that is what
you mean by "Darwinism.")
The African, the Indian, and other races were simply

No, Hitler's murderous anti-Semitism was the logical outcome of
centuries of German Christianity. The quintessential German Christian,
Martin Luther, was a violent anti-Semite who freely expressed the
opinion that Jews should be slaughtered. Before leading the Prostestant
reformation, Luther was a priest of the Order of Augstinians, so his
anti-Semitic ideas were not peculiar to his Protestantism but
reflective of German Christianity as a whole. This violent trend was
seen in several different slaughters of Jews in various German states
throughout the centuries, before and after Luther.
Under Bismark, the Jews did prosper in a united Germany, but the
situation changed in the 20th century. The massive deaths and defeat of
WWI and the ensuing depression and hyperinflation pushed Germans to the
breaking point. Hitler found an outlet for their desparation, hatred
and fear by invoking their old nemesis, the Eternal Jew. His
persecution of the Jews was a manifestation of the deepest German and
Christian feelings. The Churches certainly did not revolt against him;
they abetted his persecutions or ignored them. After the war, the
Catholic church in particular helped rescue his henchmen. Hitler was
did nothing more in his persecution of the Jews than follow ancient
Christian traditions.
The secularization of Europe has ended its internecine wars and brought
the longest period of prosperty, peace and freedom Europe has ever
seen. Indeed, the only modern problems in Europe have resulted from
the ancient religious rivalries and fervent beliefs that still exist in
the old tinderbox, the Balkans.

Christianity began as a persecuted sect within the Roman Empire. This is
*not* a position of power or prestige. This is not indicative that
Christianity has *always* "been the bedfellow of power." And even when
Christianity availed itself of the opportunity to influence and lead the
State, it was not *always* some kind of monstrous demon behind the scenes
pursuing selfish, jaded interests. Your assumption that religion is a

but I don't doubt that Darwinism helped to perpetuate slavery by offering
it
a rationalization.
You obviously missed the whole point of my post. Slavery predated Darwin,
and Darwin is simply another device to further the cause of corrupt
naturalism. Slavery can exist within a religious, compassionate environment,
if the enslaved are those who were produced by corrupt systems. In this
case, slavery can lead to reform of individuals who were conquered by war
and converted into nonagressive citizens of their new State.
But slavery, as it evolved in Europe and in America, was a corrupt
institution. Slavery had no interest in compassion or reform of the slaves.
It's motive was economics. Religion opposed it for this reason. When a
society moves away from Christianity it is *more* likely to endure evils
like slavery than if Christianity was in power or influential in society. My
central point is that America, like Europe, has moved away from
Christianity. In doing so, it has rationalized slavery and even adoped
Darwinism as a justification for slavery.

Your assumption that religion is a
monster is in itself corrupt.
Christianity, like Islam and Judaism, can be a motive for good, and be used
for evil. In my opinion most religions tend to be based on good ideas, but
become debased by humans who put the "story" ahead of the philosophy. If
believing the right story or in the right person becomes more important than
the principles involved, the religion is likely to become debased.

Darwinism as a justification for slavery.
Modernization, starting around 1600, pushed religion to the side.
Modernization ultimately led to philosophies that denied slavery as valid,
and in fact emphasized individual liberties. Modernism simply is progress.

Take it to the war groups.
We in the United States always knew that slaves were human an

wrong since the 1770 generation of North Americans never intended that
non-Europeans or women would be participants in the government.

American Civil War?
States' sovereignty and tariffs.
Negroes? That the American Civil War was not concerning Negroes is
made clear by the 1863 Emancipation Proclamation by the Unionist
president Lincoln, which stated that if the Confederacy laid down their
arms they could keep their slave labor force.
Take these things to the war groups, the idiocy is mind boggling.
Indeed, the only modern problems in Europe have resulted from
the ancient religious rivalries and fervent beliefs that still exist in
the old tinderbox, the Balkans.
Really? What an amazing statement.
Especially since most Europeans consider the Balkans to be peripheral
to what is really going on in Europe.
It's bad enough we have misinformation about what the hebrew scriptures
say without idiots such as yourself injecting such cretinism into the
soup.

It's not quite that simple. The South left the Union upon the

What does the EP or New York have to do with what
the war was about?
the war was over culture and economy, not the alleged moral issue of a
slave labor force.
In their articles of secession South Carolina, Texas,
Georgia and Mississippi used the words "slave" or "slavery"
82 times. How many times did they mention tariffs? Zippo.
For the last ten years we have had numerous and
serious causes of complaint against our non-slave-
holding confeferate States with reference to the
subject of African slavery . . . The party of Lincoln,
called the Republican party, under its present name
and organization, is of recent origin. It is admitted
to be anti-slavery.
--Declaration of Immediate Causes Which Induce
and justify secession of Georgia from the Federal
Union, January 29, 1861.
A geographical line has been drawn across the
Union and all the States north of that line have
united in the election of a man to the high office
of the President of the United States, whose opinions
and purposes are hostile to slavery.
--Declaration of Immediate Causes Which Induce
and justify secession of South Carolina from the
Federal Union, December 24, 1860.
In all the slave holding states . . . the people have
formed themselves into a great sectional party . . .
based upon an unnatural feeling of hostility to these
Southern states and their beneficient and patriarchial
system of African slavery, proclaiming the debasing
doctrine of equality of all men, irrespective of race
or color--a doctrine at war with nature . . . They demand
abolition of negro slavery . . . We hold as undeniable
truths that the governments of the various States,
and the confederacy itself, were established
exclusively for the white race, for themselves and
their posterity; that the African race had no agency
in their establishment; that they were rightfully held
and regarded as an inferior and dependent race . . .
Tht in this free government all white men are and of
right ought to be entitled to entitled to equal civil
and political rights; that the servitude of the African
race, as existing in these States, is mutually
beneficial to both bond and free . . .
--Declaration of Causes Which Impel secession of
the State of Texas from the Federal Union
The South was always suspicious and distrustful of the
non-slave north, expecting them to outlaw slavery at
the first opportunity. So when new states joined the
Union the number of free and slave states had to be
equal so the south would percieve no disadvantage. The
Dred Scott decision determined that slaves were
property and slave owners believed that they should
have the right to bring their property into any state.
The South saw the prohibition of the expansion of
slavery that Lincoln advocated as the beginning of the
end of this parity and thus of slavery. It was "an
unalterable determination to exclude _us_ altogether
from the Territories" - The New Orleans Daily Crescent.
After leaving the Union the The CSA intended to expand
southward into Mexico, Central America and Cuba. One
way or another they NEEDED a steady supply of new,
exploitable land.

would destroy the economic and cultural foundations of
their society." -- Gruver, Rebecca. An American

That's an interesting fact. Put it together with the other facts of
the war to get a better focus.
British government supported the Confederacy, not slavery.
New York attempted secession, not regarding slavery.
Slavery being the key component of the southern economic system and
also the de facto version of North American apartheid for lack of
better terminology, thus a determinant in the evolution of culture.
In those various quotations you cited one will notice that culture
appears several times.
Civil War was not about a moral issue concerning whether Negroes should
have equal liberty and equal privileges as citizens.
Lincoln made that clear in 1863 Emancipation Proclamation where
1. slaves residing in territories under Union control eg. Tennessee,
Maryland were not liberated
2. any states in rebellion agreeing to armistice slaves not liberated

That is what i have been saying all along.
The south or confederacy had a moral perspective but it was not the
false dialectic debate of slavery; it was culture. this is why they
fought as hard as they did against superior numbers. The so-called
Union strategy was to overwhelm them with bodies.
when a group is fighting for the survival of their culture it is a
given that you will need something like five to win to destroy them.

Malarky. Ananchy is the hobgoblin of those who want to retain the

Christians in control were perpetually jealous and vigorously snuffed
their rivals, using heresy or apostacy as the accusations of
convenience. At the same time, Christian theology was almost infinitely
mall eable, capable of being hammered into any form that would suit
whatever potentate was looking for spiritual assurance. Hence,
Christians slaughtered Christians with both sides (or all sides) bathed
in divine grace. During the Nazi era, Christian chaplains consoled and
blessed soldiers who murdered Jews and others.
They had chaplains at the death camps?
Why has no consideration been given to the ideological factors that
spawned the horrible tragedy of the Holocaust? The answer is simple.
Modern journalists are intimidated by or enamored with the Darwinean
hypothesis. They thus refuse to acknowledge the connection between the
seed and the fruit.
Yes, keep in mind that the United States also indulged itself in a kind of
"natural selection" of its own--and it didn't require Charles Darwin! White
Americans began to conceive of themselves as a superior race in America, and
all other races, especially the African race, were inferior and perhaps even
mere animals. Slavery was born b efore Charles Darwin published his theory,
but I don't doubt that Darwinism helped to perpetuate slavery by offering it
a rationalization.
Your ideas are wrong because your facts are wrong. England condoned
slavery in various forms -- as sl avery, indentured servitude, penal
servitude, et cetera. The American colonies reflected British law.
Europeans in general saw themselves as spiritually superior to native
inhabitants. The British were less addicted to this worldview than the
Spa nish or the Portugese, but they held it nevertheless. Americans, in
turn, were Europeans and adopted the notions of Brits and Germans.
Long before Darwin sailed, however, Britain abolished slavery and, in
fact, began patrolling the seas and app rehending slave ships (except
for those owned by their allies, the Portugese). Slavery persisted in
the United States because the slave states depended on the economics of
slavery. Nevertheless, the United States, which was always divided on
the issue, joined the British in patrolling the seas and apprehending
slavers.
We in the United States always knew that slaves were human an
equal,
Say what?
and we were so conflicted by slavery that we could only resolve
the issue with a horrid civil war.
Darwin's theories had nothing to do with any of this. (If that is what
you mean by "Darwinism.")
The African, the Indian, and other races were simply
lower down on the evolutionary scale, and at any rate, had not approached
civilized man yet. The reason Hitler's philosophy is ignored is because what
he represents is the continuing Christian apostasy of Western Civilization.
Nobody seems to want to go back to Religion. Everybody wants to be free from
religion in the modern wor ld!
No, Hitler's murderous anti-Semitism was the logical outcome of
centuries of German Christianity. The quintessential German Christian,
Martin Luther, was a violent anti-Semite who freely expressed the
opinion that Jews should be slaughtered.
Do you have an in context quote where Luther expressed
his opinion that "Jews should be slaughtered"?
Before leading the Prostestant
reformation, Luther was a priest of the Order of Augstinians, so his
anti-Semitic ideas were not peculiar to his Protestantism but
reflective of German Christianity as a whole. This violent trend was
seen in sever al different slaughters of Jews in various German states
throughout the centuries, before and after Luther.
His
persecution of the Jews was a manifestation of the deepest German and
Christian feelings. The Churches certainly did not revolt against him;
they abetted his persecutions or ignored them.
What about the Confessional church? What about the Encyclical,
"Mit Brennender Sorge"? |
After the war, the
Catholic church in particular helped rescue his henchmen. Hitler was
did nothing m ore in his persecution of the Jews than follow ancient
Christian traditions.
Christians had death camps for Jews?
The secularization of Europe has ended its internecine wars and brought
the longest period of prosperty, peace and freedom Europe has ever
seen. Indeed, the only mode rn problems in Europe have resulted from
the ancient religious rivalries and fervent beliefs that still exist in
the old tinderbox, the Balkans.

Really?
Sounds more like "yes" to me.
Saying that someone is not wrong when they do something *is* condoning it.

"words of truth" <wordsoftruth21@lycos.com> shamelessly dissembled:
Adolf Hitler ...... believed that the German people were the highest species on earth.
Germans must be kept pure, he argued, so that German children would be
"images of *the Lord* and not monstrosities halfway between man and
ape"
Unusual for a lying Christian ***** to be so careless.

What was the motive that fired the lunacy of the Fuhrer's

there is a direct connection between the Holocaust and

biological evolution.
So you agree with Stalin, huh?
Because Stalin didn't agree with evolution either. He
actually financed some "research" into training wheat
to grow in the cold of Siberia.
No, they weren't trying to "breed" a cold-resistant
strain of wheat (that would be an example of "Micro
Evolution" in action), they thought they could TRAIN
wheat to grow in the cold.
Stalin, just like you, didn't believe in evolution.
The Nazis, just like you, never understood evolution.
You see, in evolution there is no "Master Race" nor
can there ever be one. Evolutionarily speaking, the
BEST population is a large & healthy population
sporting genetic diversity. That way it can adapt to
ANY changes that come around.
The LESS genetically diverse a population is -- the
more PURE it's genes -- the less capable it is of
adapting, of developing new traits or improving
existing ones.
Just like the Nazis, you're not capable of grasping this.

I don't guess this guy knows that Hitler considered himself a devout
Catholic who was carrying out the will of God by massacreing the Jews.
