In the world of evolutionary biology, the question is not whether God
exists but why we believe in him. Is belief a helpful adaptation or an
evolutionary accident?

Pretty interesting article. It was a little irritating that the author
would lapse into saying "religion evolved" on occasion though.

They're always evolving.

Socially evolve, yes I would agree; but the article was about biological
evolution. I don't for a second think that religions biologically evolve
(except in some extremely indirect and tangential way, possibly). I
don't think that is even what the author of article intended to say - he
uses other phrasing in other places. He just seemed to have gotten a
little sloppy - and that sloppiness irritated me a little bit because
"religion evolved" is a phrase that could be so easily misconstrued.

How so, since they *are* evolving?
