What is the difference? In the first case it means serious
discrimination based on religion. In the second case it certainly
infers it.
Given the fact that most Americans religiously are not further
developed than Afghani peasants, I can understand politicians rather
not make any statements about their non religious ideas. It would cost
them the vote.
