I'm wondering if the recent popularity of the Da Vinci Code has
anything to do with it.

Its gone to number one in several other Amazon "regions"
I just worry that all the (predictable) fundie backlash will be from
those who have no intention of reading it.
I have (in very polite terms) made a request at a uk.christianty
newsgroup for a 250 word review from a "reasoned" faith perspective -
ie somebody who is actually prepared to read it....

That means your responsible for this!
".... it seems to be a logical circle - i.e. you
should be "open to all possibilities" I take that this means that we
should treat hard to prove issues such as the existance of god and the
existance of giant blue space wombats (floating in the windy storms of
saturn, playing the theme to "The Sale of the Century" on kazoos) with
equal weight."
You owe me a new keyboard!
