I've seen part one, and my opinion is that he sucks as an interviewer, but
his narration is fantastic. It's just awesome to listen to him talk.

Yes, Dawkins isn't very good in face to face arguments. A good
interviewer would have demolished Ted Haggard, but Dawkins was just
tongue-tied, so dumbfounded by what the guy was saying that he couldn't
respond. Haggard lecturing Dawkins on being "arrogant" was the epitome
of hypocrisy, especially considering what happened a few minutes later
in the parking lot.

That seems to be an inadvertant, or vertant, tactic that theists use. They
say stuff so fundamentally stupid that the opponent is left with his mouth
hanging open in astonishment, unable to figure out where to start a
rebuttal.

That was good. The Muslim was even scarier.

Ted Haggard reminded me of an archetypal used car salesman, all charm on
the surface, but underneath, watch out...
Haggard lecturing Dawkins on being "arrogant" was the epitome

He was indeed. His attack on immorality quickly turned into a harangue
defending the treatment of women as property. There is no common ground
with someone like that, it truly is like looking into the eyes of the
14th century.

I wish Dawkins had not become angry, kept his cool and just simply
asked a series of questions about where Haggard stands on various
ridiculous beliefs, like does he think Adam was made from clay, etc.
without being angry, but as a neutral interviewer. But without doubt,
it's just very nice to see anything critical of religion, and this is a
pivotal video. I think this is the harbinger of more videos and info
about the history of religion, religious atrocity, and in particular
open criticism of religion. Religion really is the elephant in the
room, clearly it's the main ingredient in this latest obsession with
terrorism, but people appear to ignore the problem of religion
completely.

Dawkins let the loonies demolish themselves. He didn't need to say
anything.
Incidentally there was a series on PBS a decade ago called "the
fundamentalists". The interviewer then was a moderate/mainstream
professor of Divinity who did exactly the same thing. Duane Gish made
himself look as though he was ashamed of what he was saying,
embarrassed to mention Piltdown. Peloza (the Vista gym teacher who
sued and lost after he was removed from teaching biology because he
taught creationism) was another.

Well, that certainly was the case with the muslim fellow. He was clearly a
dangerous whackjob. But the Christian idiot--that Haggard guy--wasn't saying
anything that the Christian public would disagree with. And to make it
worse, Dawkins attacked him and insulted him which makes Dawkins the bad guy
in the exchange, and feeds the slanderous expectations that Christians have
of atheists. He pulled out the nazi references WAY too early! (Accurate
though they were.)

I'll have to see those, they sound great! :-)
