D.C. prayer rally to seek lower gas prices
WASHINGTON, April 26 (UPI) -- A U.S. Christian group has grown tired
of escalating gasoline prices and is set to stage a national prayer
rally to lower the numbers at the pumps.
Various Christian clergy from around the country will convene around a
Washington, D.C., gas station Thursday at noon to pray. For those who
can't attend, a live Internet site and toll-free prayer line have been
established.
In a release, the Pray Live group said many people are "overlooking
the power of prayer when it comes to resolving this energy crisis."
Apart from sending a message to God, the rally had a message for
humanity, said Wenda Royster, the group's founder.
"It is our hope that seeing and hearing some of the nation's most
powerful preachers gathered around a gas station and the United States
capital as a backdrop, will remind everyone who is really in charge of
our world -- God," Royster said.

Ever since that article that showed that hospitalized people who were
prayed for actually got worse then people who weren't I'm looking at
stories like this in the opposite way. It's almost possible to actually
blame these people for the rising prices *because* they prayed ;).

Reminds me of scene in a movie where the inquisitor is sharpening his
tools, boiling some oil, and making preparations for the torture and
execution of a fervent believer. The believer is praying "Dear God, Please
free me from this impending torture and death..." The executioner turns to
the believer and says "I will free you when your God comes and tells me to
free you. Until then you are mine." Guess who didn't show up?

D.C. prayer rally to seek lower gas prices

The Web site is at praylive.com. The toll-free phone number is 888-
PRAYLIVE.

April 26, eh?
Three weeks, and no sign from god. In fact, gas has gone up considerably
since then. W even promised to intervene, rolling back a few
insignificant taxes to keep gasoline affordable. Has anyone seen a
downward trend? I haven't. In fact, the price of gas has seemingly
found its way into the grocery stores, and local restaurants. 13 bucks a
plate at the Olive Garden on Mother's Day. Last year, the same dishes
were about 9. Well, somebody's got to lose, and apparently it's the
consumer. Thank you, Mr. President Who Doesn't Give a ***** about Regular
Joe. And thank you God, for seeing things HIS way.
