"Dead" man wakes up under autopsy knife
Mon Sep 17, 8:53 AM ET
CARACAS (Reuters) - A Venezuelan man who had been declared dead woke
up in the morgue in excruciating pain after medical examiners began
their autopsy.
Carlos Camejo, 33, was declared dead after a highway accident and
taken to the morgue, where examiners began an autopsy only to realize
something was amiss when he started bleeding. They quickly sought to
stitch up the incision on his face.
"I woke up because the pain was unbearable," Camejo said, according to
a report on Friday in leading local newspaper El Universal.
His grieving wife turned up at the morgue to identify her husband's
body only to find him moved into a corridor -- and alive.
Reuters could not immediately reach hospital officials to confirm the
events. But Camejo showed the newspaper his facial scar and a document
ordering the autopsy.

Wow!
That is amazing!
Was it a real show, or is this a very well 'executed' parody?
I'd like to see more, if they have let the producers out of the
asylum.

LOL - Gad, that was SUCH a bad movie ;)

A few years ago, Chanel 4 ran a season of 'Golden Turkeys' including 'Plan
9'.
They put 'call outs' on screen to point out things like the gravestones
wobbling as the cast walked by them and the flaming paper plate in the Title
shot. It was, as you say, 'king hilarious. ROTFLMAO at it. I wish they would
repeat it at some time.

I don't leave home without it!
Seriously, I only watched it last week, after I bought Johnny Depp's
"Ed Wood", and saw Tim Burton's interpretation of how the turkey was
made.
(Martin Landau was excellent as Bela, btw)
I just *had* to watch the real thing again.

Oh, yeah. Where the star [Boris Karloff?] died partway through
filming and the studio was so irate they kept the body and used it for
the prop corpse. The lead replacement always had his back to the
camera.

Probably apocryphal, as I don't think the Next of Kin would have allowed
that.

The lead replacement always had his back to the
camera.

The replacement was much taller and thinner than the original (even before
he died!).
He did face the camera at times, but was wearing a cape that he used to
(very obviously) mask his face.
Still couldn't hide the different body shape, though.

Bela Lugosi.

Yep. That's the actor that died.
The opening title sequence is hilarious.
It's supposed to show an alien spaceship crashing to Earth in flames.
What it actually shows is a paper plate, soaked in some combustable liquid,
being 'frisbeed' through the air after being set alight.
Then there's the gravestones in the cemetery that wobbled as the actors
walked past them and many other similar 'bloopers'.
It looks like the budget for the film was about $1.50, if that.
Altogether the funniest serious film ever.

Agreed, but he *intended* them to be serious.
Reminds me of some of the posters here (Wentsky, Chunky and Puke, for
example), that think they are being serious, whilst we just laugh at them.

"Dead" man wakes up under autopsy knife

Mon Sep 17, 8:53 AM ET

CARACAS (Reuters) - A Venezuelan man who had been declared dead woke
up in the morgue in excruciating pain after medical examiners began
their autopsy.

I hate it when that happens.

I have actually been dead whilst being cut into by a team of surgeons.

For a "given value" of dead. The definition is, apparently, remarkably
complicated, and of course varies given available medical technology,
and I suppose, your ability to afford it.

I was revived,

Three days later?

I don't think so!

and did not feel anything until I awoke from the
anaesthetic a few days later, (and chundered all over the place).

Perhaps I have no soul?

But then, who does? Depending, of course, on what one means by a
"soul".

I am Caucasian, after all.

It's a bit like being a *****: either it's a mere accident of birth,
or one becomes a self-made man.

And I haven't got any rhythm, either.

Did you have a 2nd head?

Wow!
That is amazing!
Was it a real show, or is this a very well 'executed' parody?
I'd like to see more, if they have let the producers out of the
asylum.

Zaphod Beeblebrox, eat yer honky heart out.

It was a feature length movie. Certainly campy by today's standards but I
don't think that was the intent back then.

There was also a lot of protest against the film for the bad message
it
presented. Namely, it was possible to lead a life of crime and get a
head. :-)

Calling Dr. Gill O. Tine.

I hear he has a big 'chopper'.

The Gay Blade??

He axe gay, but I hear he isn't fussy who he uses it on.

Instant Cleveage?

A false dichotomy?

Oooh, that's gotta get some sort of award for something-or-other!!

"Dead" man wakes up under autopsy knife

Mon Sep 17, 8:53 AM ET

CARACAS (Reuters) - A Venezuelan man who had been declared dead woke
up in the morgue in excruciating pain after medical examiners began
their autopsy.

I hate it when that happens.

Almost as bad as waking up in the middle of a circumcision.

Not nearly as bad as having one of those Moyles who insist on sucking
the bloody stump afterwards.

It would explain why they couldn't find the cause of death.
I feel sorry for his wife.
Poor girl, her "tuppence per person per week" is just about to pay
off, and the bugger wakes up.
Could you blame her: "Hey Camejo, here,s a dollar, go see what a
Kenwood, can do"
Apologies to Stanley Holloway.

You think that they would have a qualified priest on hand to
infallibly detect if there were still a 'soul' in the body, wouldn't
you?
