Debate Over Condoms and AIDS Tests the Pope |
"Church officials recently confirmed that Pope Benedict XVI has requested a
report on whether it might be acceptable for Catholics to use condoms in one
narrow circumstance: to protect life inside a marriage when one partner is
infected with the HIV virus or is sick with AIDS."

And now you know why a pope will *never* speak ex cathedra on such matters.
When it happens, the next step will be to allow contraception in the
marriage, something that has already been considered.
100 years from when it happens few will ever remember it once was forbidden.
Meat on Friday used to be a mortal sin
Touching the consecrated host with anything but your mouth and the
consecrated thumb and forefinger of the priest used to be a mortal sin.
The pope didn't used to be infallible, that fell to a group.
And people wonder why they are called Shepard's.

Holy too late and too little, batman. Many they never would have got
AIDS in the first place if condom use had been permissible.
And people wonder why they are called Shepard's.
Or why he has a stick called a crook. You can't get more appropriate
than that.

"It is fashionable to wax apocalyptic about the
threat to humanity posed by the AIDS virus, 'mad cow'
disease, and many others, but I think a case can be
made that faith is one of the world's great evils,
comparable to the smallpox virus but harder to
eradicate." -- Richard Dawkins
