Because theists keep coming here and bringing up such topics.
Some of them are actually sincere and want our answers.
Others are trolls and just looking for trouble. You can't always
tell right off the bat. But, most of us are willing to give them
the benefit of the doubt and start a discussion. What happens
next is either heaven or hell. ;-)

Actually, this is in the FAQ.
Because we're constantly bombarded by people who try to convert us, who try
to make their religious beliefs the law of the land, and who tell us we're
evil because we don't believe in their god.
alt.atheism is a magnet for fundy-wacko types who believe this is a fertile
ground for conversion.

why have an ongoing discussion about something you you don't believe

Usually because some one is trying to force their belief on you and have
your entire society controlled they their belief!
More important question....why continually and consciously go out of your
way to attack and cajole and spam and insult and attempt to humiliate and
degrade and discredit and demean and convert someone who doesn't hold your
belief and doesn't want to?

Going quite well, thanks. I did have to "get over myself" and be grateful
that I'd found employment and to stop bemoaning the fact that I was doing
work I swore I'd do my best to avoid (i.e., admin/secretarial stuff). I
also got used to the commute and cut in salary. It is pretty funny to work

Not funny at all. Pretty scarey that you don't understand your own
religion. Your bible talks about how God wants everyone to follow his
rules and love him. Jesus told you to go out and prosceltize your
religion - even dump your family to go do it - with the major goal
being to get all people to join. How can you possibly misunderstand
that? What did you think he wanted you to do?

Not funny at all. Pretty scarey that you don't understand your own
religion. Your bible talks about how God wants everyone to follow his
rules and love him. Jesus told you to go out and prosceltize your
religion - even dump your family to go do it - with the major goal
being to get all people to join. How can you possibly misunderstand
that? What did you think he wanted you to do?

Yes, you would think georgann would know what Jesus wanted considering he
was nice enough to visit her in her kitchen ;)

georgann has been working on this silly thing for years; can't recall what
program she's been using. Corel, maybe? She hasn't had it available for
viewing in quite a while - in fact ever since some one pointed out an error,
IIRC. It's quite the confusing sight to behold ;)
